Same layout, different look.

As promised I used sc160 again but stamped the background instead of using designer paper. I am pleased with how it turned out!
The colors were inspired by the Stampin' Up! Boho style watch...although they use regal rose and I chose rose red. I really like this color combination, you'll definitely be seeing it again.

Tomorrow is the beginning of Sale-a-bration...whoo-hoo!!!! It's the biggest Stampin' Up! promotion OF THE YEAR!!!!! For every $50 you spend you get a free stamp set. Yes, a FREE stamp set. I'm placing a big order first thing in the morning to take advantage of this once a year sale.
They have some really great sets and rub-ons available. To view the Sale-a-bration brochure click on the Stampin'Up! link under "Websites I like to visit" to the right.

To place an order email me and join the Sale-a-bration fun!!

Scrapbook layout - Week 5

Life around here has just gotten crazy. I did make another card using sc160 but haven't even had the time to take a picture of it and post it. Luckily I do have a couple of things that I haven't shown you.
This layout is of one of our best family days this past summer. We went to the Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC) for the first time and it was beautiful. Still somewhat new to this area, we have had a wonderful time exploring the outdoors. My oldest son was able to hike the entire 1 mile loop himself, some areas were even a bit tough. The little guy needed some help from Daddy. He usually ends up on his shoulders while we are hiking!
I hope to be back in action soon.
Enjoy! Maureen

Happy days...

Doesn't this card just look happy? I love the bright colors...that cutie pie paper is so fun!!!
This is my entry for the splitcoast sketch challenge this week (sc160). I think I'm going to make another card using this same sketch but stamp the background panels instead of using designer paper. I'm thinking "baroque motifs", it's been a couple of weeks since I pulled that set out!
Oh, and I was FINALLY able to successfully make a scalloped edge by removing the guard on my corner rounder and it actually looks good! I have been trying to do this for quite some time. I love the little detail that it adds to this card!

By the way, I never really post at 3am, I don't know why it always says I'm posting at these ridiculous hours. Yes, I'm an early bird, but not THAT early!

Stamps: Happy everything Cardstock: purely pomegranate, so saffron, whisper white
Ink: purely pomegranate Accessories: corner rounder, white gel pen, double stitched ribbon

Scrapbook layout - Week 4

I'm getting off to a great stamping and scrapping year. I completed this layout over the weekend using, once again, retired SU! papers. It is so hard to scrapbook with the current papers for me. I see paper, get an idea, purchase it, print pictures and by the time I'm ready to use it, poof it's retired.
This is a very simple layout of my son Ethan at around 2 months old (he turned 3 in September, I'm a bit behind).

Stamp set: Sweet thing Cardstock: barely banana, certainly celery, whisper white, retired SU! designer paper Ink: certainly celery Accessories: white grosgrain ribbon, 1 1/4, 1 3/8 and scallop punches, soft subtle brads

Little boys birthday

My boys were invited to their buddies birthday party yesterday. This is the card I made for him. I used "toy box", it is a retired SU! set that I can't part with. It is the PERFECT set for little boys. The sketch came from "Stampin' Success" a publication for Stampin' Up! demos.
Boy, it feels like Monday today! I'm so glad it's not!!
Happy Tuesday :)

Stamps: toy box, sincere salutations Cardstock: bordering blue, not quite navy and garden green Inks: basic black, staz-on jet black, versamark Accessories: ribbon, watercolor crayons, blender pens, 1 3/8 circle punch, scallop punch

A true friend trade

My new obsession over at splitcoast is trading. They have a buy/trade/sell forum that I've been stalking lately. The stamp set used in this post "true friend" is one that I got in a trade. I love it and have had my eye on it since I first saw it in the mini catalog. I've had three successful trades so far and I'm looking forward to getting some more new goodies to play with!

Stamp set: True Friend Cardstock/ink: sahara sand, old olive, whisper white, fall flowers designer paper Accessories: old olive marker, linen thread, ticket punch

Scrapbook layout - Week 3

Here is my latest scrapbook page. This beautiful paper allows you to complete a page fairly quickly! All I did was mount the pictures on soft sky cardstock, add a pearl to the flower, and some other embellishments and ribbon to finish off this page.

Stamp set: Define your life Cardstock: soft sky, river rock, le jardin designer paper Ink: encore gold Accessories: river rock double-stitched ribbon, corner rounder, pretties kit and non-SU! chipboard sticker

Scrapping and sale-a-bration...

I have two more pages to post! I told you once I start going I can't stop.
The weather here is dark and gray (again) so I am going to hold off on posting my pages until we get some natural sunlight.
Both pages use le jardin, I guess that's my new favorite designer paper.

FYI- Sale-a-bration is right around the corner, Feb 1st- Mar 17th. What is sale-a-bration you ask? For every $50 you spend you get a free stamp set (or rub-ons). And the sale-a-bration sets are awesome!
I will be holding an open house during sale-a-bration (date to be announced) and I'm starting to book parties. Hostesses can receive additional sets!
Don't wait, book your party now!!!

Scrapbook layout - Week 2

Two weeks into the new year, two scrapbook layouts done!!

This is a beautiful park that Doug and I went to last Mother's Day weekend.

The stamp set and designer papers are retired SU! products.
Other items used: Sahara sand, old olive and soft sky cardstock, old olive marker & ink, dimensionals, tag corner punch, hemp twine and my cricut (to make letters)

Pomegranate passion

Finally, a sunny day!! It's been a long time since I have posted a card as crisp as this one. Amazing what some natural sunlight can do for a photo.

I have to admit, I was not fond of purely pomegranate or groovy guava when they first came out in July, but I have seen the light and looooove these colors now.
This layout is another splitcoast challange (sc158). It's a simple card that I was able to put together in just a couple of minutes while the boys jumped on my freshly made bed. O, the joys of boys :)

Have a great weekend. Happy Birthday Kristen!

Stamp sets: sincere salutations, Doodle This Cardstock: purely pomegranate, groove guava, whisper white Ink: versamark pad, purely pomegranate Accessories: white gel pen, sherbet original ribbon, 1 3/8 circle punch, scallop punch, dimensionals

Lovely Birthday

My Mom's birthday is Sunday and this is the card that I made for her. The "Oh So Lovely" stamp set is a just retired hostess set from the fall-winter catalog. I never got a chance to use it, until now. That seems to happen a lot, mostly with the designer papers. I buy it, it retires, then I use it. Maybe another resolution I should make is to use current stamp sets and paper. This may be a harder one to keep!

Happy birthday Mom!

Stamps: Oh so lovely, warm words Cardstock/ink: mellow moss, chocolate chip and very vanilla Accessories: 2 way glue pen, dazzling diamonds, sherbet originals ribbon, vintage brads, 1/16 handheld punch, sponges, linen thread

Splitcoast challenges

I was able to do another splitcoast sketch challenge (sc157). I love the way the challenges force me to think outside the box. Along with completing one scrapbook layout a week, I'm going to try to be a regular sketch challenge player this year! I'm bound to make this a fun year filled with stamping and scrapping!!!
Stamp: Simply said Cardstock: close to cocoa, whisper white, apple cider designer paper (su! retired) Ink: chocolate chip Accessories: vintage brads, ticket punch, sponges, watercolor crayons and blender pens.

Thanks for looking!

Scrapbook layout - Week 1

If you remember, one of my "resolutions" this year is to complete one scrapbooking layout a week. This is my first one. It took me a loooong time to finish (actually to get started). I haven't scrapped since my weekend getaway in November and I'm a bit rusty. This always happens when I've taken some time away from it. Once I get going again though, it will be easier.
For the second post in a row, I used the le jardin designer paper from SU! It's so pretty, I just love it! I also used vellum, river rock and always articoke cardstock, vintage brads and linen thread.
The page reads: Brother will you...build forts, shoot hoops, teach me to skip rocks, tell me stories in the dark, always be my friends.

le jardin

A quick post today. This is the birthday card I made for my sister. I am seeing her today and I'm hoping she doesn't check my blog this morning. I used the pretties kit, le jardin designer paper, river rock and whisper white cardstock and the ticket punch. It's hard to see in this photo but I also stamped "wonderful"(from warm words) in river rock ink. Sorry the pictures are so dark lately, the weather outside hasn't been cooperating.
Have a great day! More tomorrow!

When in doubt, baroque.

I sat down last night to make thank you cards. I really didn't have any ideas, so I turned to baroque motifs. This set is so easy to use and it never lets me down. I used my favorite in color combination blue bayou and soft sky, I love the way they look together. I also added a bit of dazzling diamonds to the center of the flowers.

Gotta love a simple yet elegant one layer card!

Stamps sets:baroque motifs, much appreciated Cardstock/ink:blue bayou soft sky accessories:double-stitched ribbon, dazzling diamonds, 2 way glue pen, glue dots

I know, I know

I've been neglecting my blog big time! We had company throughout the holidays leaving no time to scrap or stamp. I did make my grandparents a 6 x 6 album but ran out of time to take photos of it, sooooooo nothing to post!
This month is another busy birthday month, I have thank you cards to make and a baby shower to go to this weekend so I'm bound to have something to post soon!

The new Stampin' Up! Spring-Summer catalog is now available. Let me know if you'd like a copy. It's beautiful...I want ALL of the designer papers and there are about 6 new must have stamp sets!!! Out with the old, in with the new!!

And, Happy New Year. I'm not one to make resolutions but this year I'd like to complete at least one scrapbook layout a week. I don't think that is too much of a stretch, a completely reachable goal, don't you think?
I'd also like to start running some classes and scrap days again soon, so check back to see what I have going on over the next month or so.

Have a good one!
