These are some really old photos. I can't believe how much the boys have grow!! Sometimes I miss those days, sometimes, not so much.
I found another tutorial on scs on how to make these cute flowers, a little different then Dawn McVey's and a bit easier!! I love how the Fresh Alphabet letters look here, so fresh (hence the name) and simple!!
Have a great weekend. We are off to go camping for a few days. I sure hope the weather holds out!!!!
I have been spending a lot of time making cards lately. I finally printed some more pictures and feel inspired to scrap again :) Once again, I participated in Jen Peel's sketch challenge (http://jenstamps.typepad.com/). Her sketches always include using a lot of photos, which I have a hard time with on my own. My family does tons of hiking and outdoor activities. Do you have a favorite color combo that you use for outdoorsy pics? I'd love some fresh ideas!!
Thanks for stopping by.
I know summer is officially here when my husband is done with teaching for the year. High school graduation was Monday night and I made this card to congratulate him on another successful year!! He has quite a commute, but finds it worth it. He is well respected by the staff and students. I'm proud of his hard work and happy to have him home until August!!
I don't know what it's like in the rest of the country, but, let me tell you, the northeast is MISERABLE. I think we've had 2 days of sunshine in the past month. It's cold and rainy and down right disgusting. I look forward to this time of year all winter and it's really been depressing, quite a let down after very long, very icy winter! YUCK :-(
On to my card. A co-worker gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on Friday, this card is for her. I used the CAS19 sketch and one of my go to sets "Friends til the End". You're probably getting sick of seeing me use it so often. It's kind of what I do, Get a new stamp set, use it to death and sell/trade it to get something new. I 'm not one to hang on to things for long. I'm actually in the process of selling my cricut (want it?). It sits and collects dust and I just can't justify keeping it. The money I get for that and the cartridges will help me get some of the things on my wishlist. It's a never ending process!!! I've babbled long enough! Thanks for stopping by!
There has been a lot of talk in the blogging world about making your own embellishments. Dawn McVey recently did a tutorial on her blog on how to make these cute little flowers. I am really finding her work SO inspiring lately!!!! I decided to give these little babies a try, Wow, not only are the easy to make, they are adorable. I made three of these cards, I'll share the others later.
The color combo is PTI kraft, vanilla, chocolate chip and cameo coral. I have never used cameo coral, EVER. I was inspired to use it because of the CAS challenge this week on SCS. You'll definitely see it again!!!
Have a great day, one more day of school for the kids and we are home for the summer. Now, if the weather would only clear up.
If you checked in yesterday, you saw the card I made for the My time sketch. Instead of cleaning up, I decided to make another card using the scraps I had on my desk. I used the SC231 sketch, my scraps and some ribbon (that I had tied and never used on another project) That's it. I should do this more often, ok, I WILL do this more often. Holy cow, this literally came together in minutes!!! This sketch is a keeper, awesome for using scraps!!
What do you do with your scraps?
Time for another My Time to Create sketch challenge. Of all of the challenges out there, sketch challenges are definitely my favorite. It's just enough to get the creative juices flowing. I rarely create without them anymore.
I flipped it and adjusted it a bit, but here's the outcome. Stay tuned to see how I used my scraps :)
I have two very cranky little boys, urgh! I'll try to get this posted before they start at each other again. So much for a relaxing day!
This is my entry for the Raspberry Suite Color Challenge. The colors I chose were SU! Purely Pomegranate, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla and PTI Kraft. I'm busily making thank you cards for all of my kids teachers, maybe I should have started more than a week before the end of school.
Off to referee the two monsters, I mean boys!!!
I've been neglecting my scrapbooks lately. It's funny how I go through phases when all I do is scrap and then other times all I do is stamp. Do you get like that? I seem to get in a rhythm with one and just go with it!
I went with a "PLAY" theme today. Ethan as a baby, Conner about a year ago. It's amazing how much play evolves over the years. I miss the days of plopping babies in the middle of the floor with a basket full of toys :( Playtime in our house consists of lots of yelling, grunting, battling, running...I think you get the idea.
Thanks for hopping over to visit:) I appreciate it!
Doesn't this card just make you want to smile? Ok, it makes me smile :) This is such a fun and cheery color combo... baja breeze, so saffron and ruby red. It's for my SIL who is coming up tomorrow night to babysit my younger son Ethan, while I go on the Kindergarten class trip. I'm really looking forward to spending some time with Conner and getting to see how he interacts with his friends. I can't believe he's almost a first grader...gasp!
