I think I say it every time, but these color challenges are REALLY a challenge. You can not even imagine the amount of scraps and trash I had on my desk by the time I was done with this one, phew...I didn't think I'd complete it. I should have taken a picture, it looked like a tornado went directly through my stamping room!! I'm pretty neat when it comes to stamping. I never make a 2nd project before finishing and cleaning up a first one. Not the case last night. OK, moving on...
I used Fifth Avenue Floral (SU!), Fancy Flourishes (PTI - for the leaves on the flower) and Damask Designs (PTI) for the sentiment. Colors are: Ruby Red (SU!) Berry Sorbet, spring moss (PTI) and Whisper White (SU!). The butterfly punch is Martha Stewart. I don't know what's gotten into me but I'm loving butterflies lately. I'm really getting girly. Maybe it's because I live in a house full of boys!!
Have a great weekend. I'll post next week when we get home from our Ohio trip!!
Here are two more cards I made with Tea for two. I've been into making sets lately. These two cards coordinate with two I posted a bit ago. I just can't get enough of kraft and baja breeze lately :)
My husband gets so domestic in the summer. He's a teacher and home all summer, so he has lots of free time on his hands! As I type, I am smelling the sweet smell of blueberry pie baking in the oven. He and the boys picked a bucket full of wild blueberries this morning. (They actually taste better than the ones I buy at the grocery store.) They came home and whipped up a pie and it smells amazing. I can't wait to try it tonight, yum :) I think they are making blueberry jam next :)
Happy Friday all! Thanks for stopping by. My layout today is one of two based on "Home". Home is a funny word these days, on a more personal note than usual, our house burned just about 4 years ago. Although we are all rebuilt and have been back for almost 3 years, our sense of home is no longer the same. Home is where my family is. Whether we are in our house, a condo, townhouse, living with family...as long as we are all together, we are home!!
I did this layout using a sketch for the design team call for Creative Scrappers. I didn't make the team, but had fun trying!!
I hope you have a great weekend!! Maureen
My nieces 18th birthday is next week and we are heading out to Ohio to celebrate her high school graduation and birthday. I'm so excited for the trip, it's been two years since we've seen her. I knew I wanted to make her a personalized card set and when I saw the CPS sketch this week, I KNEW it had to be a design for one of my cards. I used the JRS c-30 diy monogram stamper kit...don't you love it?!?!? Next, I came up with these two cards to finish out the set...
And, the whole set together
She'll get 2 each of the three different designs. I hope she likes it!! Thanks for looking :) Maureen
I'm a little short on time this morning. I have company coming in a bit and the boys are mad because they can't hear the tv over the vacuum, oh, the horror!!!!
When photographing this card I used a black background, as opposed to my normal white, looks weird, but cool? Anyway, on to my card...another Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #12...dark pink, dark red, moss/celery and vanilla. I used Friends 'til the End, Polka Dot basics and the sentiment is from Damask Designs. A cute little button to tie it all together. Have a great Sautday everyone!!
No matter how nice it is to go away, it always feels good to come home. We cut our trip by a day as we were all eager to be home and together again :)
I love this paper. It's from a retired SU! kit Secret Garden. The paper in this kit ROCKED and I have saved every single scrap!! As I was going through my stash, looking for inspiration, I found it and knew I had to use it along with Damask Designs. I'm making some cards so that I can send out Conner's t-ball pics. Mom, this one is for you, you can pretend you are surprised :) Happy Thursday!!
I had to play along on this challenge. I haven't had a chance to do one of Lauren's challenges in a couple of weeks. Since the boys are visiting my in-laws, it was the perfect time to play :)
Some of these challenges really are, well, a challenge. Pink and orange are NOT colors I'm usually drawn to. I find that making these adorable flowers is a good way to use a lot of colors. It's what I've been doing lately when I get stuck. I also used polka dot basics and the sentiment is from Damask Designs.
Ok, off topic. Did anyone see the new set PTI is coming out with, OMG, Everyday Buttons Bits...seriously, this set was designed for me. And, it's a series!!!! I might actually stay up and order it tomorrow night during the release party. I have NEVER done that, but I HAVE to get that set in my hands, pronto!!
Ok, enough rambling. I have lots more to share, but that will have to wait until the end of the week. I'm joining the boys tomorrow and going to enjoy them every single second!
Look at this sweet face, seriously, he is so darn cute I can't stand it!!!!! This is my son Ethan at his Easter Bonner Parade this past April. I missed it because I had my sinus surgery the day before, but my hubby got some awesome shots. I feel like I didn't miss a thing!
I used the sketch sbsc197 at Splitcoast. It is actually a 1 page layout that I stretched out and made two. I used SU! SAB dsp, thickers and buttons (SU! and PTI). I love how the journaling is around the pictures, I have to do that more often. It adds a really special touch.
I'm posting again in a few. I also had time for the Mytime color challenge.
This is my newest addition, Tea for Two from PTI. I love this set. I was really drawn to it after seeing what was being done with it in combination with Lauren Meader's Timeless Templates. Talk about awesome gift ideas!! I already know what I'm doing for x-mas teacher gifts this year:) I know, I'm a little nuts to have so much x-mas on the brain in the summer. This is also about the time I design my x-mas cards...
Anyway, on to my cards. Using Tea for two and the retired SU! Parisian Breeze paper (yes, it's still my favorite), I made these adorable cards :) I also made two more that I will share with you tomorrow. I can't wait until I get a chance to play with this set again, maybe I can sneak in some stamping time this afternoon :) I did make another card using this set and polka dot basics and my lovely son Ethan decided to color on it, urgh!
Until tomorrow :)
I was planning on sharing my x-mas day layout, however, it's seems that after uploading it to SCS I deleted it, whoops. I guess that spares you having to see another x-mas layout in July. Not that it feels like July! At 11 this morning it was 60 degrees. We haven't even used our air conditioner yet this season. So much for global warming!
Today I'm sharing a layout I did of Conner's 6th birthday. I love the clean look of collage layouts!! I just got a new PTI set, I can't wait to share what I've done with it over the past couple of days...Have a good one!
We spend every Christmas Eve with my Mom, sister and BIL. They come to my house late in the afternoon and leave at about the boys bed time. Once we read books, leave cookies and carrots for Santa and the reindeer, and get the boys to bed, Doug and I exchange gifts by the tree. We've learned that in order to actually look at and appreciate our gifts we have to do it alone. It's a great tradition and I really look forward to that time alone with my hubby!
Of course, the next chore is getting the tree ready for the boys. This was our tree this year :) It was a beautiful one. Once I get all of the presents ready I can barely contain myself...it's so hard not to run upstairs and wake the boys. Christmas is truly magical!!
One more layout to share with you tomorrow :)
This always happens! I'm scrapping winter pages in the summer and summer pages in the winter. Luckily I stocked up on paper and had plenty to choose from for my Christmas layouts. I actually only used the "I wish" simply scrapping kit by SU! to complete all of my pages. How awesome is that? So, someone remind me that I do NOT need to order any holiday paper this year, I have an entire unopened pack!! Thanks in advance!!
We're back from our camping trip and I'm feeling creative:) I spent some time in my stamping room completing our 2009 x-mas pages (I'll share them soon) and I participated in the raspberry suite color challenge again. This week the colors were bright pink, red, green, black and gray, with the option of white or vanilla. I used my new polka dot basics (don't you love it) and a sentiment from Friends 'til the end.
Thanks for stopping by. Happy 4th!! Maureen
