Stranger in the Woods

For Christmas of 2009, the boys received a book from my Uncle entitled. "Stranger in the Woods". It is a story depicted with true photographs of nature. Looking through the book is like looking into our backyard. The story is about a boy and girl that build a snowman and fill the hat with seeds and leave treats for all of natures creatures. The deer, birds, squirrels are all weary of this stranger in the woods. We decided it would be fun to build our own stranger...
And I used this weeks Sketchy Saturday Sketch:
***This is a horrible photograph, the weather here is rain, rain & more rain (better than snow!). Sorry!

The snow was so heavy that day that our snowman started to collapse, but I was able to get a shot of a deer enjoying our treats before it fell!!
This is now a winter tradition that we all enjoy. "Stanger in the Woods" has become a family favorite too!!

I kept the layout pretty simple, I really wanted the photos to stand out and chose red on the light blue to make them pop. I made a journaling tag and patterned paper using PTI Journaling Lines Polka Dot Basics and Beyond Basic Borders. I punched out some snowflakes and added rhinestones for the finishing touch.

Have a great Sunday. Don't forget to spring ahead!

I want that book now! I love that! My kids would so enjoy the story. Have you ever heard of The Elf on The Shelf? I started it this year with my kids but sooo wish we would have been told about it when they were a bit younger. The excitement is just priceless. It's all about believing. I only have a couple years left I think with the whole "Santa" thing so just thought I would share a new tradition if you are interested.
