{love you

I'm playing along with the WPlus9 Design Color Cue again :) What a fab color combo! I immediately thought baby boy card when I saw these colors, but once I started pulling out papers, I went in a totally different direction.

I think it's safe to say that the October Afternoon Thriftt Shop paper is my favorite right now. You know what I love about it? There is such a wide variety of papers in one pad, from vintage to bright and cheery. It can be used for just about any and every occasion! In my opinion it's a must have for every paper crafter.

Today my son Conner is competing in the first grade Spelling Bee. Last week he made it to the finals and today is the big day where he competes against all of the finalists from the other 7 1st grade classes. I've been thinking about him all day! Parents weren't invited :( due to lack of space! I'll know in a little over an hour how he made out. Keep your fingers crossed for him & tomorrow too, he's competing in the First Grade Math Bowl, he's my little smarty pants!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you'll come back soon!

My Wish...

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! Why does it always seem to go so fast, hmmm...wishing it was Saturday again! Speaking of wishes, the latest sketch challenge posted this weekend at SSC.

This was a fun one :) I didn't have any ideas when I sat down to create, but it came together quickly!! I love it when that happens!! I added my journaling around the edges of the large torn sheet of paper, then decided I had more to say and continued around the inside panel. I've been wanting to try the circle technique I used on my ribbon since the SSC Technique Group used it a couple of weeks ago, I love it!!! Overall, it's a simple layout that really packs a punch :)

Have a great day!

Lots going on...

at Simply Scrapping Crafts! Here are three of my projects that posted over the past few days:

Color Challenge:

Using these fabulous Target Dollar Spot felt flowers (awesome find!) combined with Fancy Flourishes, I created this CAS card.

Card Challenge: Be inspired...

The inspiration photo lead me in the direction of rainbows, then clouds & suddenly I had a hot air balloon, sky, grass...the perfect card to lift someone's spirits!!

Paper Scraps:
Be inspired by this May Pole & make a card or layout using strips of paper no thicker than 1/2". Use in any way shape or form as long as your strips are ALL SCRAP PAPER.

Another CAS (Clean and Simple) design! It's not always easy to design a CAS card, there is always the urge of wanting to add more. Here, I think less is more!

So, this is all I have for you today. I'm going to go and enjoy this beautiful Spring weather we are being blessed with right now. I hope you get a chance to enjoy it too!

All American JUGS

I had to play along with this weeks JUGS challenge, Red, White, Blue & Kraft. PTI's Star Prints works perfectly on patriotic cards & layouts! I tend to pull this set out often during this time of year...Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day...just a stars & stripes kind of season!
The color inspiration:

My take:

I may have to make another before I put all of my supplies away. Just too much fun :) I'm feeling like today is going to be a good day. The sun is FINALLY shining and we may actually get some Spring weather, YAY! I hope the sun is shining wherever you are too!!

Stamps: PTI Star Prints, Polka Dot Basics, Damask Designs (sentiment)
Paper: SU! Real Red, Navy, PTI Kraft & White
Ink: SU! Red & Navy
Accessories: Eyelet Scallop punch, ribbon

MIA, again!

Wow, once again, I've gone MIA! Geez, I feel good, I feel bad. Blogging, not blogging. Let's hope I'm back for good this time.

Here's a couple of my latest creations:

First up, SSC Card Challenge Week 2, make your own patterned paper. I used MTME Fanciful Florishes to make this gorgeous pp.

Next, SSC Color Challenge Week 2. I'm loving making these graphics :)

I think that is all for now. I will TRY my hardest to be back with this weeks challenges, on the day they post. I hope to be a better blogger, hang in there with me!!!

Judy, the owner of SSC recently shared with us a devastating story about her lifelong BFF being in a horrible car accident. We all decided to make cards for her friend to brighten her day.

It's stories like this that remind you how precious life is. How one minute can change your life forever. Today, let the ones you love know how much you love them & need them.

'Til tomorrow!

Happy Mothers Day!

I hope you are all enjoying your Mothers Day, whether you are a Mom or celebrating your Mom, or both. Today I got lots of adorable handmade goodies from my kids that they made at school! Love that stuff. I'm wearing a beautiful necklace made with string & beads & a thumbprint flower. These are the things I will treasure forever.
I got to spend last night with my own Mom & sister. We did some shopping & chatting over a very LONG dinner! We always seem to pick the restaurants with the worst service. After 2 hours we practically bit the waitresses head off for even suggesting coffee & dessert :) It was fun none the less.
You know what I did? I forgot to bring my Mom's card to dinner, totally forgot it, urgh!! I'm so mad about that!! Sorry Mom!! I will have to wait to post it until after I see her.

I do have this to share, this weeks SSC Sketchy Saturday:

Pictured here are my maternal Grandparents, Jack & Elmira Fox, whom I never got a chance to meet. I see my Grandfather in my son Conner. Those are some strong Fox genes, most of the Great-Grandchildren DO resemble him. This page will be added to my album, the one I've been working on for the kids one day. Included in that album are many family heritage pages, me growing up, pages of me & my husband when we were dating...you get the idea. The stuff that they will appreciate when the get bigger & are interested in who their family is and where they came from!

Well, Happy Mother's Day! Kick your feet up & relax!!!

Happy Friday!

Good Afternoon!

Well, April ended on a crazy note & it just seems to continue. With the nice weather, end of the years activities and appointments, there just isn't enough time in the day. Add that to FINALLY feeling well after months & months of being miserable, sick & achey, I just don't know what to do first. Catching up on the house "stuff" that has piled up, Spring cleaning/organizing & re-organizing closets, outside play-time...I think you get my drift :) Also, I know this isn't catastrophic or anything but...I'm reading an awesome book and I can't put it down. My favorite book is a book written by Lori Lansens called "The Girls". I also loved her second book, "Rush Home Road" and I happened to be at the library 2 Sunday's ago and saw she has a new book "The Wife's Tale." I feel in a panic because I only have a few days to finish it, I don't want to rush through it, but it's crunch time here ladies, lol!!! I don't usually take books out of the library for this reason, but I saw this and ripped it off the shelf like a madwoman!

Now, let's get on with what you are really here for...First up is this week's SSC Card Challenge. First week of the month means a sketch.

Next, is the SSC Color Challenge: Black, Gray, Pink & White. I had a blast on this one and am completely in love with this big Thrift Shop Stamp. An early Mother's Day present from my hubby :)

The last project I have to share with you is the SSC Paper Scraps Challenge. If you don't like bugs, DON'T look any further!! Please remember I live in a house with three boys, this is what THEY like to do. If I want to hang with my boys, I HAVE to do gross stuff like going to an Insect Museum! (click on the picture to get a better view, if you want to that is).

That's all I have for you today. I plan to come back tomorrow to post my project for Sketchy Saturday & again on Sunday for Mother's Day!!

Congrats if you made it through all of this!! I appreciate each and every visit and love when you leave me some love. Every comment gives me the warm fuzzies!!!

Checking in...
