Yummy Sketchy Saturday

Can you believe it's the end of February? I can't. Although having February beneath our belts can only mean that Spring is getting closer, slowly but surely...

Ok, Sketchy Saturday time:

My yummy, delicious page. I want to eat him up:

I have held on to these pictures for a long time. It was time to finally get them in a scrapbook, and this sketch just fit them perfectly.

Have a great day!

SSC February Card Challenge #4

How's everyone doing on this snowy Thursday? We're on day two of being snowed in and I'm starting to get a little stir crazy, claustrophobic and I have a major case of cabin fever. Looks like we're not getting out of here until Saturday people, ahhhh!!! Sorry, I have issues :)

Another Card Challenge for you:

I had so much fun with this challenge. A little rough getting started but I'd loved using so many different stamp sets together to make this little number. I'm loving the 4 x 4 size card lately!!!

Stop by SSC to see what the very talented SSC Design Teams Gals have done with this challenge. I'm pretty positive you'll be impressed!

Stay warm!

Stamps: PTI Beyond Basic Borders, Journaling Lines, Birdwatching Additions
Ink: SU! Bashful Blue, Bravo Burgandy, Mellow Moss

SSC February Color Combo Challenge 3

Wednesday means that many new challenges are being posted over at SSC!! One being the Simply Sweet Color Challenge.

Aren't these colors beautiful? They are so bright and fresh. It wasn't hard to draw inspiration from these!!

With SU! Ruby Red ink, I stamped using one of my all time FAVORITE sets, Damask Designs by PTI on Cameo Coral cardstock. I love being able to make elegant backgrounds, quickly and easily!! The rest is pretty straight forward card making :)

Thanks for stopping in. I should be posting quite a bit over the next couple of days. With just having had a foot of snow last night (we were supposed to get 1-3 inches) and an anticipated 2 feet tonight-Friday, I'm going to have a lot of free time on my hands. Unless, of course, we lose power! Yikes!!

Cardstock: SU! Cameo Coral, Ruby Red, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Coluzzle, SU border punch, Very Vanilla taffeta ribbon

Phew!

Happy Monday all! I hope you had a relaxing weekend and, if you live anywhere near us in NE PA, ready for more winter weather. I just got the call from the school district that after school activities have been canceled. Here we go again! I don't know about you, but I have HAD it with the white stuff. Enough is enough already!!!

Wanna see what I did this weekend?

I made 50 of these bad boys, or should I say bad girls! They are for a young ladies Quinceanera. Phew, what a relief to have them finished. Having this hanging over me was really stressing me out. I still have to print the insides, but that's cake. I can't even tell you how much glitter I have had on myself for the past two days!!! It's everywhere and just keeps multiplying. My desk and floor are covered.

And, all of the completed cards:

I have to say, this card is so not my style. Rhinestones and glitter aren't really my thing. It's going to be a while before I pull out the glitter again, a very long while.

I hope Yasna is happy with her invitations and that her Quinceanera is magical!!!

It's Sketchy Saturday time!

I don't know about you, but I am loving that today is Saturday. And what better way to start out the weekend than with a sketch. Here's this week's SSC Sketchy Saturday sketch:
The great thing about sketches is that they are a starting point. I've had this adorable picture of Conner and Ethan waiting to be scrapped for too long. I take it out, play around with different layouts and put it away. Then, I saw this sketch and thought, "Perfect"! Instead of scrolls and flowers, I saw BUBBLES :)

Stop by and see how the other Design Team Gals interpreted the sketch! They will definitely get your mojo going!!!

Paper: My Minds Eye, SU! Sahara Sand, Brilliant Blue & vellum
Accessories: Raindrop stickers (checking on maker of these), bubbles (unknown), SU! SAB punch, circle punches, corner rounder

SSC February Color Combo Challenge 2

Time for another color challenge.

Don't you just love these beads, the colors are just gorgeous! I used these colors and made a Birthday card for my Conner, who turned 7 on Wednesday.

This cute octopus is a free digital download from Lauren Meader's new store. I printed it on some dsp from SU!, added some cute googlie eyes, ribbon, bubbles and a sentiment from PTI's Everyday Button Bits and my card was complete!!

Tomorrow is another Simply Sketchy Saturday. TGIF!!

This week's challenge is an inspiration, we were to look at this photo and be inspired by the colors, details or anything that jumped out to us! Clare's choice on this is amazing, there is so much to be inspired by. I especially loved the bright colors and flowers on the couch. So here is my card:

I hope you'll come play along. Other new challenges and groups have be posted, some come over and visit :)

SSC Wild Card Wednesday (on Tuesday?)

Ok, so I'm a bit behind! Wild Card Wednesday posts over at Simply Scrapping Crafts on the second Wednesday of the month. The Wild Card challenge was to make a Valentine Layout without using pink. Here's my Valentine for my wonderful husband Douglas:

I used PTI's Journaling Lines to make journaling cards. I love how they came out, so simple and easy to customize to fit your needs. I also used the "I love you" stamp from Damask Designs, Fresh Alphabet and Polka Dot Basics to spice up my chipboard heart.

I'll be back tomorrow with the Color Combo Challenge. See you then!

(Be back in a bit to add my supply list)

SSC Weekly Card Challenge

This week's SSC Card Challenge is a Technique; using Tissue Paper flowers on a card. I went for a vintage, elegant look on this one.

To make the flower, I first punched out several scalloped circles. Next, with a sponge dauber, I used my pastels and rubbed the circles with SU! Close to Cocoa (I hope that's the correct name). Then I went around the edges with Chocolate chip. After application of color was done, I scrunched the circles into balls several times, adhered them with a brad and started rolling the edges in to make the shape of a flower. The final step was to layer a half pearl onto a button and adhere to the center of the flower.

This is only one way to make a tissue paper flower, the SSC Design Team Gals all used a different technique. Visit us and play along, http://simplyscrapping.ning.com/group/cardchatchallengecorner/forum/topics/february-2010-weekly-card-2

PTI Paint by number challenge

The PTI anniversary celebration is still going on over at Nicole Heady's blog. After making an announcement that they will be selling acrylic paints, Nicole gave her readers a challenge, similar to the paint by numbers we did as kids. Using the specified colors for the first letter of your user name (mine is maureenl, I'm so creative, LOL) you then had to use a sketch and fill it in with your colors. First, let me say, I LOVE the fact that she supplied us with a sketch and meaurements, that made things SO much easier. However, these colors are WAY out of my comfort zone. Honest, does it work? Hmmm, I'm not so sure. Wish I had more time to play around, but No can do. Keeping my fingers crossed, today's prize is a $100 gift certificate :)

Hey, chickadee

Happy Monday all! I hope you had a nice and relaxing weekend. And, for those of you that got hit with that snow storm, I hope your power is back and you've dug your way out! I have to say that I am thrilled that we didn't even get a snowflake, not one. I should be knocking on wood!!

I made this little card on Saturday after spending about 7 hours reorganizing...I don't know how the whole thing even started but we reorganized the garage, my stamping room, the guest room and boys closets and part of the basement. I had bigger plans for the card, but pooped out pretty quickly. I love this CAS layout, it's one I fall back on when I can't find my mojo. Thanks for stopping by today. Off to start my mega to-do-list....

Stamp: PTI Everyday Button Bits
Paper: SU! Bashful Blue, Old Olive, Very Vanilla & My Minds eye dsp
Accessories: corner rounder, SU SAB punch, rhinestones, button, SU vanilla tafetta ribbon, sponge

SSC Simply Sketchy Saturday's

I'm back with another SSC challenge. Each Saturday join us for a new sketch challenge. I'm a bit late on the post, as a new sketch will be posting tomorrow already. Most of the northeast will be snowed in, so it's a perfect time to scrap!

Here's last week's sketch:

And, my take:

This page was from "Equinox Extravaganda" at PEEC (March 09). It was the first time we had gotten outside for a hike in a LONG time. The boys loved to be "up on the rocks", as they love to chant as we hike!!! Come by again tomorrow when I will be posting the next Simply Sketchy Saturday sketch.

Cardstock: SU! Chocolate Chip and Specialty paper
Accessories: PTI Dark Chocolate buttons, Cloud 9 sticker, Martha Stewart Varsity letters

Exciting news & a challenge

It's a warm and welcoming community filled with inspiration and challenges of every kind!!!

My first challenge was a sketch challenge.

PTI Challenge #4

ok, this is the last one! I'm exhausted...4:15 comes quick. And since I've been playing all day, I have too much to do right now. This is about the time of day when my body goes into shutdown mode!!!

For my little 4 x 4 card, I used Niki's image. I'm psyched that she will be a stamp designer in 2010, I love her style and look forward to seeing what sets she has in her collection.

This has been quite a journey and a challenge and lots of fun :)

PTI Challenge #3

Wow, here's #3!! Probably my last for the next little while, I need to get back to my Mommy duties. Dishes are piling up, my stamp room is trashed and little man's lunch is still on the table, YUCK!!

This card uses Lisa Johnson's image. I love this scrolly script. I outlined the smallest panel with dazzling diamonds and added rhinestones for a little extra bling!!!

I'm hoping to be back again later. Thanks for stopping by!!!

PTI Challenge #2

My second card :) This one uses Heather's digital image. It's so cute, isn't it?

Another super simple card. I tried pulling some of the colors from the image into my layers. I used polka dot basics for the background and Beyond Basic Borders for the sentiment. Ok, back upstairs. Hopefully little man keeps watching his movie!!!

PTI challenge

Hello there! Many posts to come today. As you know, I am completely in love with PTI. If I won the lottery I would email costumer service and order one of everything :) Seriously!! I love when their anniversary comes around. Nichole is always so generous with give-aways. Today, each of the stamp designers has a free digital download on their blogs. The challenge is to use each of the images on a card, upload, link...all by 7am tomorrow. For every card you make, you get another entry into winning stamps :) I love a good challenge!!!

I used Dawn McVey's digital image on my card above. I trimmed my card down to 4 x 4 and then cut my image out using my coluzzle and added Dazzling diamonds around the edge. I love doing that lately!! Some polka dot ribbon and polka dot paper...and we have a super cute card!!! I love making these sweet little cards. Ok, upstairs to finish my second card of the day, I'm literally waiting for the ink to dry.

Be back soon!
