For My Husband

Another quick post today. I'm not quite back to myself just yet. I'm hoping another day or so and I will be back to regular postings. I thought I'd share a card I made for Doug for his birthday this past Tuesday. Happy Birthday Hunny!!!

Some Eye Candy...

Hello!!!

I'm sorry for the long delay in posts. I have Strep Throat and have been down for the count pretty much since Saturday!!! Thought I'd drop in to give you a little eye candy until I'm back to regular posting. I'll also post my list of supplies at that time.

Splitcoaststampers CAS112 - "Cut-it-out" Sentiments

The Outlawz March 27th CAS Sketch Challenge

I'm obviously into layered frames & butterflies lately!!! And looking at these cards together, it's pretty much the same layout, huh, who knew?

Hope to be back soon!!! Take Care :)

Birthday Quilt

I have always wanted to try this technique. Today's ABC Challenge is "Q" for quilt, so it was the perfect time to try it! I started by using the SAB Ice Cream Parlor dsp (free with a purchase of $50). I cut the pieces into 1 1/4 squares and adhered them to a piece of white cardstock. Then, I ran it through my die cutting machine using the Top Note Die. I wanted the quilt to pop a bit more, so I trimmed it out and layered it on a piece of Melon Mambo Cardstock and used my Basic Black Marker to do some faux stitching!!! I also used some of the Quick Accents & Ribbon from the Ice Cream Parlor line.

This card really brings a smile to my face on this snowy Spring day! I hope it makes you smile too!!!

Monogram Card

(Click on photo to see details)

Happy Sunday to you! I hope you are having a fabulous weekend. Today I'm sharing a card I made for The Outlawz CAS Challenge, to make a monogram card. I made this for my sister-in-law as a bit of encouragement. I used Love Letter dsp and the Top Note Die to make my background. This is a great way to use up some of those scrap papers you have laying around!!! I layered several circle punches and embellished the monogram with two tiny pearls. I love how the Basic Pearls come in several sizes!!

Family Time Friday

Sorry about the lack of posting this week. I was a bit preoccupied, you'll see why :)

Saturday:
Ethan made this card for his teacher because she wasn't going to be in the classroom on Monday. He adores her. The entire card was made by Ethan, he chose the stamp sets, embellies...I only cut the paper at the bottom for him, he found the bow in a jar of scrap ribbon.

Sunday:
I had a slight breakdown on Sunday. The winter is really getting to me! I spent 3 whole weeks at home (besides dr. appts & errands) and was just about ready to pull my hair out, LOL!!
So, we headed out for dinner at this fun restaurant. They play the Golden Oldies, have a railroad running near the ceiling & have a restored car in the center of the restaurant. The kids meals come in an oldie car. It's lots of fun and definitely what we all needed.
Even Conner let me take a picture of him!!!

Tuesday:
This is what preoccupied me for the rest of the week!!!
I'VE BEEN PUBLISHED!!!
You can purchase 350 Cards & Gifts here.
I'm on Page 22!!!

Wednesday:
Conner and Izzy have done some major bonding lately! She sleeps with him most nights and snuggles with him most mornings. It's really sweet :)

Thursday:
St. Patrick's Day
Once again those pesky Leprechaun's have come and played their tricks. Every year they come to our house and make a HUGE mess. This year was by far the worst!!! There were stuffed animals all the way down the stairs, in our room, the guest room and the boys room was trashed. They even hung a snake from the fan!!! Can you believe it? LOL!
Ethan wanted to build a trap to catch them so he could find out where they hide their gold :)
Conner was mad that they never come back and clean up!!!
I did pretty well on my Picture-A-Day project this week. Let's hope I can keep it up :)
Have a great day!

Tuesday Trigger

Happy Tuesday! I'm having a fabulous day and I hope YOU are too!!!

Today I'm playing along with the Tuesday Trigger at Moxie Fab World! I saw the inspiration photo and there was no way I could pass it up!!!! It's all about BUTTONS :)

This is how I was inspired:

I was obviously inspired first by the buttons, but also the texture and colors!!! What a fun, quick card to make! The little tag was made using the Decorative Label Punch!!! I stamped the sentiment, and punched it out using the short end of the label. Then I slid it back in the punch and punched it again! Easy peasy!

Thanks for coming by!!!

Stamps: Just Believe
Ink: Crumb Cake
Paper: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla
Accessories: (Misc Buttons & Thread non-SU!), Decorative Label Punch, Top Note Die & Square Lattice Texture Folder

Out of the Box

It's Monday and that means a CAS Challenge at Splitcoaststampers. This week is a technique called "Out of the Box". Check out my birds tail, it is actually outside of the die cut (you can click on the photo for a better view)...isn't that cool! It took me a few tries but I got a hang of it pretty quickly. There is a great tutorial in the resource section at Splitcoast if you'd like to give it a try!!

I started this card by stamping my bird image from the Nature Walk stamp set in Soft Suede ink. Then I trimmed the tail and ran the Very Vanilla layer through my die cutting machine. I also die cut a Soft Suede mat. Next I stamped the top half of the card using another image from Nature Walk (by far my FAVORITE set in the Spring mini!), stamping the image in Crumb Cake ink twice before inking it up again and lined the bottom half with Elegant Soiree dsp. I finished off my card with a small piece of Victoria Crochet Lace and a beautiful Rosette that I topped with a few small Basic Pearls!

Thanks so much for starting your week out with me & for all of your sweet comments! I read each and every one!!! Have a fabby Monday :)

CAS Note Card

I loved this weeks FTL 131 at the Clean and Simple blog, but tried something just a bit different with it! I changed the design a bit and replaced flowers with a butterfly and bees. I wanted a very subtle background, so I rolled my Music Notes wheel through my Crumb Cake ink pad to make some patterned paper. Easy Peasy! This is a great card, for any occasion and perfect for mailing since there isn't much (any) bulk to it!!!

Any fun plans today? This weekend? We haven't quite decided yet, but I need to get out for a bit some time this weekend, besides errands I've been home bound for TOO long!!! Have a good one!

Family Time Friday

This week seems to have gotten away from me and I have very little photos to share? I don't know how that happened!! I think probably because the boys are completely consumed with their new Pokemon Black & White Games. This is them before they left to pick them up.

Think they are excited?

While the boys are away, the girls will play :)
This is Jenn, Me & Amy. We design together at The Outlawz and met while designing on another team about a year ago. It was great to finally meet in person!!!

My dapper husband
Doug participated in a fashion show to raise money for a little girl in the community where he works. She was born with Progeria, the syndrome of premature aging. The fundraiser wound up raising a bit over $5000.00!!! Woohoo!! This is Doug at his fitting at Banana Republic :)

That's our week in a nutshell! Enjoy your weekend!!!

Thinking of you

Thinking Spring again here...more snow, ice and rain in the forecast tonight and this is just the color combo to get me through it. I made this cheery card for The Outlawz Sunday CAS Challenge this week with a very special person in mind. It seems lots of my stamping friends have been going through some bad times and I thought this bright combo could brighten anyone's day!
I started this card by stamping my image from "Just Believe" with my versamark pad. I then broke out my Pastels!!! They haven't seen the light of day since Ethan used them, broke almost every color and mashed them into my rug!!! Needless to say, they've been hiding on the top shelf of the closet in my stamp room ever since. I had honestly forgotten what a beautiful effect you get from using pastels!!! With the Beautiful Wings embosslit, I made those cute little butterflies and finished them off with pearls! I really wanted the focal image to take center stage, so I didn't add much else to my card; just a strip of Daffodil Delight patterned paper and a bow was all it needed.

CAS Humor

My first challenge for the SCS CAS DT...humor! Although stumped at first, these little owls popped into my head and I knew I could do something cute with them. I made them matching text "outfits". The boy owl is wearing First Edition dsp and with Cherry Cobbler ink I stamped the girl's outfit with the A to Z stamp and punched it out. The thought bubble is from Valentine Defined. I inked that in basic black and then again in Cherry Cobbler and trimmed the heart and attached it with my 2 way glue pen! I added a fun banner and button to balance the card.

Announcement...

Splitcoaststampers CAS Design Team Announcement...

AHHHH, that's me :) Yay!

Family Time Friday

It's been a bit since I've posted my Family Time Friday!
Here's a few things that have been going on around here.

Conner, sick as a dog, taking his first nap in probably 4 years. He missed the entire week of school, but is finally on the road to recovery!

Haircuts, finally!

And, the sweetest note ever. I had a doctor's appt about 2 weeks ago and came home to this note from Ethan. He's a Mama's boy and always snuggles with all of my stuff when I'm gone. I find my robe in his bed if I'm not home when he goes to sleep...he's so sweet!!!
Can you read it? It made me cry hysterically...I will keep this forever.
"I love you so much you not believe it".
Melt my heart!

Lovin' Baja Breeze

Hi there,

What a week! With Conner still sick, there has been very little crafting going on here!! Luckily I have a card or two stashed away just in case ;)
If I had to choose my favorite SU! Color, I think it would have to be Baja Breeze. I was doing the happy dance when they brought it back with the Color Renovation!!! And my favorite new punch, they Decorative Label, hands down!!! I happened to see a sneak peek of a coordinating stamp set and I'm pre-ordering it for sure!!!! Let me just tell you, it's gorgeous!!!!

***Just a reminder, CAS Classroom for March has begun. Registration remains open for this month until Sunday, Click Here for more info. Members may order, don't forget Sale-A-Bration ends at the end of this month!!!! Bump your monthly minimum up a bit to $50 & receive free product!!!!

I'll be back to add supplies! Thanks for coming by :)

Final Challenge for the SCS CAS DT Search

Another quick post for you today, my poor Conner is STILL sick. He has the flu and seems worse today. He's actually napping. He hasn't napped since he was 3 (he just turned 8)!!!

I did it. I made it to the final round of the SCS CAS DT Search. The challenge was to use flowers, which shouldn't have been a problem, but, it has been. Having Conner sick and getting the time to create a submission I was happy with was most definitely a challenge.

It's such an honor to have gotten this far. The group of ladies I'm up against are so talented, I'm just happy to be in such great presence!

Thanks to the DT for choosing me for the final round :) I'll let you know how it goes!
