The History of a Corner Rounder

It is official!! I'm addicted to rounded corners :)  This card was finished, I had even taken pictures of it, when all of a sudden I felt the sudden urge to round the bottom corners.  I can't help myself, I love the way a nice rounded corner looks and how it finishes off a card perfectly!  Sometimes one corner, sometimes two...yes, I'm addicted.

The corner rounder I am using is one of my first EVER scrapbooking tools.  I purchased it in 2003 from a friend who was a Creative Memories consultant at the time.  It's the only tool I purchased back then that I still use today.  This corner rounder rounded every picture and mat in Conner's baby book.  I look back at that sometimes and laugh...did I really need to round EVERY corner?  And scrap EVERY picture?  I had no idea how to scrap, but I knew how to use my corner rounder, haha!!!  Maybe I'll feel that way when I look back at this card and many others I have made in the past few months.

Well, this post took a very interesting turn.  I wasn't intending to tell you the history of my beloved corner rounder, but now you have it!  What is your most beloved tool?  Do you have one that has been with you since the beginning of your journey with paper crafting?  I'd love if you left me a comment and shared your story!

My inspiration today came from the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger...

Hi Mo,
Stopping by to say hi and adore your latest card.

I also have the very same corner rounder, but now I find I LOVE my Making Memories "Chomper" even more and love having the ability to round my "corners" in a variety of sizes.
Like you, I think it adds a nice touch.

Your cards is stunning and a perfect take on the inspiration image.

Hope you and your family are all well -- miss seeing you and think of you and all the gals often!!

Hugs,
Lis

First of all Maureen, I LOVE your card...something about damask :) And...I am right there with you on the corner rounder (my scrapbooking follows by history: corner rounder, circle templates, circle cutter). Cracks me up how many circle pictures I had to have! Everything had to be a circle. I moved from the Creative Memories corner rounder to the We 'R Memory Keepers Cromper Chopper. Besides that I think my favorite tool is my scoring board and bone folder!

Gorgeous card, I am obsessed with round corners, too, it's just something you never see on commercial cards, is it? My favourite thing now must be the stamp-a-ma-jig, such an awesome result from a very basic piece of kit.

Rounded corners......definetly!
They take a card from the point of being simply elegant, to being sublime! =)
Beautiful job!

Maureen, your card is so elegant and beautiful!

One of my very first tools, and the only thing I ever bought from Creative Memories, is my beloved corner rounder. I loved your story. :-)

Maureen your card is fabulous and I love the story of the rounded corners and that sure is your signature mark on most of your cards. I especially love it when you only corner round one corner. Thanks for sharing.

This card is BEAUTIFUL! It's a great inspired creation from the trigger picture.

Funny you mentioned the corner rounder - it was the first punch I ever bought (from creative memories) and I still love to use it! Funny that you got a little corner rounding crazy with it - LOL. I think that was the style then.
