CASology- CAMP

It's time for a new CASology Cue Card!!!

Nature and wildlife come to mind when thinking of CAMP.

I used a bunch of stamps here.
Masculine Motifs by Papertrey Ink is my go-to for all things "boy".
It's perfect for boys and men that enjoy the outdoors.

How are you inspired by CAMP?

Journals & Copics

My boys and I have had fun keeping journals this Summer.
Here's a snippet from Ethan's journal...

I love that he dove into my scrapping supplies and got creative with them!
Ethan is crazy about washi and uses it ALL the time :)

More than that though, the kids have really enjoy coloring with my Copics.
GASP, I know!  I AM letting them color with my Copics!!

Ethan can spend hours coloring.   I think he enjoys it even more than I do!
He cuts each of his creations out and puts them in his journal.

His signature detail, a pearl or rhinestone on each creation.

I've been practicing a bit too.
I still have a ways to go, but here's a recent creation...

I hope you are having a great weekend!

Floral Birthday

I'm checking in quickly today with my card for this weeks SN challenge.

The last week of the month is dedicated to sketch challenges and
his month we based our sketch off of one of Kristie's cards :)

A fun sketch, right?  We'd love for you to join us!  Head over to StampNation to learn more!

CASE Study #151 - Say What?

It's our last week with Jocelyn Olson as our Muse at CASE Study.
I'll be sad to see her go.  I've love being inspired by her cards each week this month.

Her last card will surely knock your socks off!

How fun is that?
I was inspired by the colors and positioning of her images.

The sentiments on Jocelyn's card reminded me of the Say What? stamp set from MFT.
Totally Valley Girl-ish :)

I can't wait to see your take on this challenge.
Make sure you stop by and visit the rest of the CASE Study Design Team.
You won't be disappointed, I PROMISE!!!

But before you go,
mark your calendars...

It's going to be a blast!

More Christmas in July

Happy Monday to you,  I hope your week is off to a great start!

Today I'm back with some more cards for Christmas in July.  My stash is growing, 15 done before August isn't a bad start :)  I'm doing my best to keep my Christmas cards pretty flat for easy mailing.  I normally use a lot, and I mean A LOT, of dimensionals.  I used some here but only on the focal point, rather than the whole top panel!

My inspiration came from the challenge over at The Paper Players.

My latest addition to the CAS Classroom at StampNation went live this morning.  I gave the ladies some tips on mass producing holiday cards.  It's never too early to start :)

Here's one of the cards I used as an example:

I now have over 20 lessons in CAS design.  These lessons touch on everything from white space to gift sets.  I'd love if you were to join me there!

Thanks for stopping by!

Watercolored Hearts

I don't know what it's like in your neck of the woods, but we are in the middle of a HEAT WAVE!  Our area rarely sees temperatures this high.  I was getting cabin fever and feeling like I needed to try something new the other day.  So after watching Jennifer McGuire use Distress Markers, I head the the "local" (an hour away) craft store to purchase some.  I've had a blast playing with them and when I saw the sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch! I knew exactly what I was going to do!

I started by coloring with the distress markers on watercolor paper, then covered the area with water using my aquapainter.  Once the paper had dried, I die cut the hearts, moving the die down a bit each time so you could see the full range of colors.

Watercoloring may become a bit of an obsession of mine for a bit. I'm loving my new Distress Markers :)

CASE Study #150

We're back with another fabulous week with Jocelyn Olson as our Muse at CASE Study!
Look at this amazing inspiration!

And my card...

I loved the overlapping shapes and bright color scheme on Jocelyn's card.
I used chevrons in which I have overlapped making a fun background for my card.

Remember this card for CASE Study #147?
Today's card is one of the 6 cards I made using from the scraps of that card!

I can't wait to see your take on this challenge.

Shining Star

I'm having a blast making Christmas cards!  The photo didn't take very well, but my tree was heat embossed with Iridescent Ice.  It's so shimmery in real life, just like fresh snow.  Speaking of SNOW, my card was made for the current challenge at Festive Friday.  I'm new to that challenge, I followed my bloggy friend Lynn there because she keeps making adorable cards for it :)  Thanks Lynn!

While the weather here in NEPA is ridiculously HOT and HUMID, I'm staying inside nice and cool and stocking up on Christmas cards!  I love celebrating Christmas in July.  My yearly Christmas card goal is 60, I have 13 done.  Not a bad start!

My card was inspired by this weeks sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch!

I typically make some Christmas card in July and then get really serious about Christmas/holiday cards in September.  What about you?  When do you start making holiday cards?

Birthday Wish

I did it!
My Moxie Fab Mission is complete :)
Today's card is for the final Birthday Creations challenge, to make a Birthday Card.

This card was really fun to make.  After a week of balloons, I was ready to make something a bit more girly and feminine.  I heat embossed the background with white powder on vanilla cardstock, it's subtle, but really adds a nice touch.  I masked off my card base so my stamping would stay right where I wanted it.  This card design is based off of a sketch that Kristina Werner used in one of the Online Card Classes.  I'm trying to resist the current class so I'm looking back at some of the old classes for inspiration :)

I hope you've had fun joining me on my Moxie Fab Mission!
Have a great weekend!

Stamps:  Borders & Backgrounds 1 & Strictly Sentiments 1 (Wplus9) Peaceful Wildflowers (MFT)

Accessories: Circle Punch (SU!) White Embossing Powder, Wood Butterfly

Moxie Fab Birthday Ensemble

*This is my second post today.
Please scroll down or click here to see my CASE Study Challenge post.

This was by far the hardest of the Birthday Creation Week challenges at Moxie Fab World!  The challenge today is to make a birthday ensemble.  I can do cards, but an entire ensemble, this is not my thing.  It took most of the morning and some of the afternoon to complete.

My ensemble includes an invitation, treat bag and home decor item.

Here's a closer shot of the card & treat bag.

I hope tomorrows challenge is a bit easier, I'm exhausted ;)

I am also entering my ensemble card into the Simon Says Stamp Challenge: Pin It.

I'd also like to share the card I made for this weeks challenge at StampNation...
To use the 3D technique.

I hope you are having a great week!
See you back here tomorrow :)

CASE Study #149

We're back with another fabulous card by our July Muse, Jocelyn Olson.

And my card...

My interpretation is pretty straight forward.  I stuck with Jocelyn's layout by framing my sentiment.  I added pops of pink and  left plenty of white space, like to inspiration card!

I can't wait to see your take on this challenge.
Make sure you stop by and visit the rest of the CASE Study Design Team.
You won't be disappointed, I PROMISE!!!

Moxie Mission Continues & Christmas in July

I'm back today with another creation for the Birthday Creations Week at Moxie Fab World.
Today's challenge is to make a birthday invitation.

A clean and graphic look, my favorite!

My next card  is for the Muse Challenge #25.  A Christmas card...

I don't know how I got from the Muse card to this, but it happened.
Can you see what I drew inspiration from?

Here's my thought process...
  • I was inspired by the group of flamingos in the water.
  • I started looking through my stash and came across the carolers & lampost images from Iconic Christmas.  I thought I could line them up together like the flamingos.
  • Then I thought they should stand in snow, like the flamingos are standing in water.
  • Of course, my sentiment placement and black matting were taken right from the inspiration!

See you tomorrow as I continue my Moxie Fab Mission :)

Moxie Mission meets Mood Board Monday

**This is my second post today. Please scroll down or click here to view my CASology post.

If you visited my blog yesterday you read that I'm on a mission to do each of the Birthday Creation Challenges at Moxie Fab World this week while my boys are at Basketball Camp.  Not only did I play along with today's Moxie Fab challenge, I was also able to play along with the Mood Board Monday challenge!   Life is good :)

First up is the card I made for Mood Board Monday #16

And the inspiration...

You all know how obsessed I am with floral sets, right?!
Well, let me just tell you, this is my favorite!

Hold on to your hats...
I think it may just surpass my love for Rosie Posie!

Fresh Cut Florals is amazingly beautiful with so many details and options.
You are going to be seeing me use this a lot.

While I had my supplies out, I made a tag for the Moxie Fab Birthday Creations Challenge.

I hope you are having a great week!
See you tomorrow!

CASology - Neon Birthday Wishes

It's time for a new CASology Cue Card!!!

Growing up in the 80's I had my share of neon clothes, earrings and Madonna bracelets,
but I guess I haven't gotten back into the trend this time around.

The neon supplies in my crafting collection are slim to none!  yikes!

I found a few sheets of patterned paper that were on the bright side...

To make my border, I used the Quilt Cuts 2 die by Wplus9.
I love using my supplies in ways that they are not intended.  It is a great way to stretch your stash!

I added black to my neon colors, it's such a nice contrast!

Where will the Cue Card NEON take you?

On a Moxie Fab Misson...

I woke up on a mission today, a mission to stamp!  The boys are in camp this week and I'd like to take some time each day for myself.  During my morning blog hopping I found that Cath at Moxie Fab World is celebrating a new special issue, Birthday Creations and she is posting daily challenges.  I thought, "Perfect, I'll do each of the challenges this week."

Fast forward a few hours and I was ready to stamp!  The challenge was to use the sketch (posted at the botton of this post) and either make a card using ALL stamping or NO stamping.  I opted for stamping!  I quickly made a card, then set off to get my camera when it dawned on me that we are celebrating "Birthday Creations", ha!  This is my card...

Yup, not a BIRTHDAY card!
Back to my stamp table and I revised my design to this...

More fitting to the challenge :)
But, this card is very similar to one I made and will be posting later in the week for StampNation.
Oh, well!  I got two cards done today and that makes me happy!!!!

I hope you are having a happy day too.
