A Note of Thanks

Can you hear the crickets chirping on my blog?  Seriously, I'm so sorry for my lack of posting lately.  I had minor surgery on my leg two weeks ago and my progress has been slow but sure.  I'm finally getting around fairly well and able to drag out my lightbox etc so I can participate in challenges again.  YIPPEE!!!  I'm not a very good rest-er :)

When I saw this weeks Muse challenge, I knew I'd have to play along.  I love Laurie's unique panel shape and wanted to use something similar on my card.  I also loved the little background stamping on her card, so I did a little of that myself.  I didn't have a background stamp that worked well, believe me, I tried them all.  They seemed too large and  I was looking for something a bit smaller.   So, I decided to stamp my own background.  To do this, I drew a grid with a pencil and ruler, marking 1/2 inch increments.  Then I stamped a feather in the center of every other grid.  This is what it looked like before I erased my lines.

Fun, right.  I love making my own backgrounds!

Thanks for stopping in!!!

Stamps:  Fanciful Feather, Basic Banners (Wplus9)
Ink:  Indigo Island (SU!)
Paper:  Whisper White, Pool Party, Indigo Island
Accessories:  Enamel Dots (MME)

Absolutely love your take on Laurie's card! The color combo is fabulous and thanks for showing how you made your own background. i always struggle with the spacing when I try that, but there's so many fun stamps to make your own backgrounds with.

Maureen this is fantastic and I love your grid, it works perfect. Yes I agree that we are stamping sisters separated at birth!

Wow, Maureen, this is such beautiful stamping! I love the double blue line on the top panel, and I love that you didn't copy Laurie's panel shape, but still reflect her design so perfectly! Beautiful!

Sorry about our surgery, but excited to see that this card was featured as an Honorable Mention today!!

I have been so behind in challenges, as I was working on a huge purge and re-organization in my craft room.

I donated $100's in craft goodies to the Little Paws Dachshund Rescue and they raised $1,400 in a big yard sale. I'm also making cards for their ETSY store and will be a Foster Mom for one more little dog very soon. I LOVE my two so much, so what's ONE more...and it's only until they find a "forever" home....I had a whole new love for dogs ever since I adopted my first last Fall and the Puppy in April. SHe's a rescue too!!

They are my little craft room companions and always full of LOVE...i guess I'm having a bit of empty nest syndrome and they've really helped!! <3

Take care my friend and keep up you wonderful work!!!

Hugs,
Lisa

PS: I read you sweet thank you, but you deserved it!!
