Warm Wishes

I can't believe the title of my post, it just means that winter is coming :(  Luckily our cold burst is gone and we are now enjoying some beautiful Fall-like weather, cold brisk mornings and beautiful afternoons!

How cute is this little penguin?!  I've had him in my stash for a while but I never quite know what to do with him (yes, it's a boy!).  I think he's perfect behind these peek-a-boo windows.  My card is a CASE of this one by Lisa Johnson, but I went with Christmas instead of Halloween since my kids have "fired" Halloween. You did hear that correctly, they have fired Halloween.  They both hate Halloween and asked if we could just stop celebrating it.  Um, yes please!  Let's just say that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.  I do plan to do something special for them anyway, but it might entail a dinner rather than candy.   Just another day in the Merritt house :)

My card today was also inspired by Retrosketches #81.

I'm laughing that they fired Halloween. I would love to fire it too but you don't have a consensus in my house! Your card is adorable!

Oh my cute and a button. I didn't really use that penguin much because I didn't know what to do with it--guess what? Now I do. ;) I love the firing of Halloween! Ha ha ha!

Oh, so cute, Maureen! Those little penguins are ADORABLE! We don't celebrate Halloween, either. Never have. HATE it, especially that everyone throws it in my kids' faces everywhere we go. Do people even realize the origins of this holiday? Not for me!

Love your penguin card. Our oldest grandaughter just loves them. Halloween is out in this household too, not a fav for sure, we do harvest festival instead. The grandkids really enjoy the tone of it better and so do we.
