Quilt Prints, Two Ways

It was love at first sight for me & Wplus9's Quilt Prints :)  I seriously love playing with background stamps and finding different looks and combinations.  I have two cards today using Quilt Prints.  One on the graphic/modern side and the other more Country inspired.

My first card was made for this weeks StampNation Challenge, Anything Goes.  I've layered the borders and filled them in with bright colors and black.  This has a graphic and modern feel to me.  I think this card would work well for a teen or trendy young adult or friend.

I think this second card is more my style.  I love the Country/Americana feel, that's how a quilt is "supposed" to look to me.  It works perfectly with the stars and the plaid pattern that I stamped on the smaller star using Country Charm.  This card was inspired by Mood Board Monday .

I'll be back to fill in my supplies later :)

Happy Birthday, Ardyth!

If you love CAS design then you've run into Ardyth along the way!  Her clean and graphic style is an inspiration to us all.  Her creativity absolutely blows my mind!    When Darnell emailed me and asked if I'd like to help celebrate her birthday, I couldn't resist.   The hardest part about the decision was which card to CASE.  I finally narrowed it down and chose this one here

So, Happy Birthday Ardyth!  I hope you enjoy your birthday surprise!!!!!!!!

And the Cue Card is...

It's time for a new CASology Cue Card!!!

And here is my card...

I've never touched a giraffe, but I bet they are pretty furry :)

Where will the Cue Card FURRY take you?

Thinking of You Bouquet

I don't think I have ever joined in the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop before. I always mean to, but never quite make it. This month is different though.  The challenge for hop is to use one of the Bouquet Builder color scheme. You all know how much I LOVE Rosie Posie, right? How could I not join in?

This is the Bouquet Builder I chose to work with...

I didn't have a color similar enough to Summer Sunrise, so I substituted it with Pumpkin Pie.

Thanks for stopping in!  I'm looking forward to seeing how other stampers used the Bouquet Builder color schemes.  I bet we are in for a ton of inspiration!

Head on over to see the full project!
Have a great one!

Shocker!

Can you believe it?  I colored this image.  I know it's not perfect, but I did it :) This is only the second image I've colored since taking the Copics Certification class in the beginning of May and I'm pretty proud of it.

My card was inspired by this weeks CASE Study Challenge, another fabulous week with Maile Belles.  I also have to give Cindy Lawrence credit as I am totally trying to CASE (COPY her coloring!) haha

I have one more card to share today.  I posted the newest edition of the CAS Classroom over at StampNation earlier today.  This lesson focuses on repetition.  The above card is one of my samples and seems to be a member favorite.  I don't usually toot my own horn, but I love how this turned out.  The colors are so soft and soothing.  I think that the repeated stamping really draws the eye right to the sentiment!

Doug & I are headed North for the long weekend.  The weather is pretty miserable, but I'm sure we will enjoy ourselves regardless.  It's our first time away without the kids in 3 years, so this is a real treat!  Whatever you are doing this weekend, be safe and enjoy yourself :)

Happy Memorial Day Weekend, woohoo!

CASology - A Royal Hello

It's time for a new CASology Cue Card!!!

I wasn't quite sure where to go with this Cue Card so I did a google search
and found images like the one below, dark colors with gold.

And here is my card...

The gold embossing on black cardstock really pops, even more so with a crisp and clean card base.

Where will the Cue Card ROYAL take you?

Sparkled & Sponged

It's been a while since I posted one of my challenge cards from StampNation.  This is my favorite from May!  It was made for a "Sparkled & Sponged" challenge.  It is SO glittery in real life!!  I wish I could capture that in my photo.

Have you ever tried the Faux Diamonds Technique?  It's really easy.  You know I'm not much of a technique junkie & I don't like to take out too many supplies or get dirty, so this is right up my alley :) You start by stamping your images and then in this case I sponged next.  Then press your paper into a versamark pad, covering it completely with ink and then cover it with Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder.  Heat set and you are done.

I'll be back tomorrow with the new Cue Card for CASology!  In the meantime, check out StampNation...we have 317 video tutorials (holy cow), weekly challenges, my CAS Classroom, Trends Articles and MUCH more.  I'd love to catch up with you there!

CASology Birthday Blooms

It's time for a new CASology Cue Card!!!

Talk about a perfect Cue Card for early Spring!
We are just blooming here in Northeastern Pennsylvania, finally :)

I thought using Papertrey Ink's Embroidered Blooms Stamp Set was fitting for this weeks Cue Card.

To keep the stamping and design CAS, I only stamped my images on the right side,
leaving plenty of white space to the left.

Where will the Cue Card BLOOM take you?

For My Teacher

Did you know that Teacher Appreciation Week is next week?  I usually do a little something, a card at the very least for my kids teachers.  As a former teacher I know how nice it is to be appreciated and thanked for your hard work.  And, it is hard and draining, to say the least :)  This year I made note card set that coordinates with the above tag, tied them up in a clear box and they are all ready to go.  I can't share those with you though, they are my newest entry in the CAS Classroom at StampNation.  I now have over 20 lessons in CAS design, plus a section on sketches.  If you ever wanted to know more about CAS card making, or just card making in general you should join!   Click here to find out more.

As you read this I am sitting in a conference room about 2 hours from my home learning how to use Copics :)  I decided it is time to take the plunge and finally learn how to color.  Hopefully with a little practice I'll be able to purchase and use some of those amazing line stamps out there!

I'll let you know how it goes!  Wish me luck!

Catching up!

Somehow I forgot to post this card last week for the StampNation Sketch Challenge!  I'm really loving Pool Party lately (you'll see more Pool Party below!).  I've been using it a ton with pinks, yellows and shades of orange (my personal favorite!).  How cute are these little flowers?  I just can't get enough of them!  Wouldn't this card cheer you up if you were feeling under the weather?

Speaking of StampNation, I just realized I never posted pics or anything from the StampNation LIVE! Retreat.  What is the matter with me?  Here's a group shot take the second day of the retreat.  What a wonderful and amazing group of women.  I can't wait until next year :)

And now I have the newest challenge at SN, "That Special Lady".

I hope you are having a great day.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and thanks for all of the wonderful comments you leave me :)  I appreciate them & YOU!

Bye!
