PIN-spired #2

If you missed it, I started a new feature on my blog last week.  Each Sunday I will be posting a card inspired by a pin on my Pinterest boards.

Here's this week's card...

Inspired by this pin from my Photography board.

I love this beautiful photo.  I'm kind of obsessed with floral photography right now.  I was inspired by the colors, flowers and "blurred" background, it kind of reminds me of watercolors and water splotches.

To create my focal point, I used a technique I saw Jennifer McGuire use for masking.  I stamped my images on watercolor paper, then brushed over them with rubber cement to create a mask.

(Please note...rubber cement is NOT for the faint of heart, I seriously thought I was going to pass out from the fumes, lol.)

Once that dried {and I got some fresh air}, I covered an acrylic block with Mowed Lawn, Peacock Feathers and Dusty Concord Distress Inks, then I spritzed it with water and stamped right down on my paper.  As the ink dried, I flicked some water on the background to create the watermarks.  Before trimming out my image I removed the rubber cement, it just peels off and leaves a crisp clean image underneath, cool right?

Are you PIN-spired?  I'd love to see how this photo inspires you!  If you make a card using this as inspiration leave me a comment so I can check it out!!!
