CAS(E) this Sketch #101

Before we get to the new sketch and my card, this will be my last week as a DT member at  CAS(E) this Sketch.  It's been an honor and pleasure to create with such an amazing group of crafters.

Thank you Chrissy for the opportunity to be among such greatness!!

Here we go, the last sketch as part of the team...

And my take on the sketch...

I love the detailed images included in the WPlus9 Merry & Bright stamp set. All of the options included make building a beautiful scene easy.  Here I paired Merry & Bright with the Spring Wreath die.  Don't think of your supplies as seasonal, stretch your stash by using them all year long.

I'd love to see you playing along!  Head over to CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of the DT is inspired by this week's sketch.

Radiant Neon Ink

A few months back, Imagine Crafts send the StampNation Design Team a box full of goodies.
I immediately feel in love with the Kaleidacolor ink pads!

The Radiant Neon Inks have been sitting on my shelf untouched, until now.
Talk about beautiful, vibrant colors!  Wow!
I did have to get used to the fact that they are pigment inks as I'm used to using dye inks.
I don't have the patience to let the ink dry, so I just hit it with my heat tool to speed things up a bit.

Imagine Crafts is sponsoring our challenge at StampNation this week.
We've all used Imagine Crafts products, check out a peek.

Fun, right?!

CAS(E) this Sketch #100!!!!

It's time for a new sketch at  CAS(E) this Sketch and this week marks our 100th sketch.
We have some special friends posting with us this week to celebrate & we have a surprise.
You'll definitely want to head over to the CTS blog!

All I could think when I saw this sketch was patterned paper!

I started this design by cutting my patterned paper in 1/2 inch strips.  I used a ruler and pencil to mark the center point on the card base, then started laying down my strips!  Super simple and a great way to use up some of your paper scraps!!!

I'd love to see you playing along!  Head over to CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of the DT is inspired by this week's sketch.

Tag You're It #10

It's time for a new challenge over at Tag You're It!

I was inspired by Lynn's cluster of flowers!

There's so much to be inspired by on Lynn's tag.  Whether it's the cluster of flowers that inspired me, the colors, design, use of patterned paper,, I bet we have quite a collection of tags this week!  I used the WPlus9 Merry & Bright stamps and dies to make my flower cluster.  The stamps were first stamped in Real Red ink, then again in Cherry Cobbler.  These colors are only slightly different, but it did give me the contrast I was looking for!  My sentiment from Merriest Wishes was stamped in Early Espresso ink, which was also stamped on the leaves.  Pretty Pink Posh  Metallic Gold sequins finish this tag off perfectly.

Head over to Tag You're It! to see how the rest of the DT was inspired.  I hope to see you playing along.  Our challenges are open for two weeks, so you have plenty of time to play!

Happy Friday everyone :)

On Friday,  I mentioned the craving I've had for donuts since my Celiac diagnosis (read in post below).  Well, look what happened yesterday...

Can you believe it?  Yes, those are REAL gluten free donuts from a dedicated gluten-free facility!!!  This is such a funny story...we had a former student/friend of Doug's visit yesterday.  She's been helping me with my diet, she is an absolute wealth of knowledge about food and allergens and so inspiring.  Before coming to our house she and her sister went to New York City and this is what she brought me (and a bag of all kinds of gf goodies).  I was shocked, of all the things she could have picked, she brought me DONUTS!!!!  What a wonderful coincidence for me!!  I gave her a big hug and told her I loved her :)  She even made sure she picked up food that I can order online, so the next time I want donuts I can order them!

Thanks to everyone for the notes and recipes.  If you've been searching for a gluten free donut, look no further...BabyCakes.  I ate the one in the upper left last night, yum!!!
