CASE Study #180

It's our last week with Danielle Flanders as our Muse at CASE Study.
I'll be sad to see her go, her designs are always so inspiring!
I was drawn to the colors in Danielle's design.

Danielle's cards have been so hard to CASE and not just flat out copy :)  I really tried hard to pull from her card yet make something completely different this week.  I SO wanted to pull out a flower set, but forced myself to go in a different direction.  I'm pleased with how it turned out.

Make sure your stop by each of the DT's blog to see how they were inspired!

Basics & Beyond is LIVE!

Our newest online class is now available.

Basics & Beyond!

It's a wonderful resource for all stampers.

Here's what others are saying about it...

I have gone through 2 lessons so far and love the class. Wish it had been available before. Like any new skill, it is so important to build a strong foundation with the basics before adding all the embellishments. I like the way each lesson builds on the previous one. I also like the way it encourages you to work with stamps and supplies you have on hand. Great inspiration and ideas!!!   SandyJ

I hope to see you there!

CASology - PAINT

It's time for a new CASology Cue Card!!!

This is a great Cue Card!  There are so many possibilites.
And, it's oh so trendy!

I combined a few sets here to make a fun OLC.
Keeping your stamping and embellishments all in one spot helps create a focal point while leaving plenty of white space.

I've been loving the idea of combining several different embellishments to my cards.
Here I used PPP Pink Peonies Sequins, MME Enamel Dots and rhinestones.  I think they add to the whole PAINT/splatter feel on my card.

CASE Study #179

We're back with CASE Study #179 continuing with our February muse

I love the soft pastel colors here.
I pulled that into my design, as well as the large sentiment and vellum.

I had a blast making this card.  I don't usually gravitate toward such a soft and feminine color palette, so this was fun for me.  To make my card, I started by die cutting the "hello" sentiment from watercolor paper and colored it using Distress Markers.  To give it a softer look, I brushed over the ink with a lot of water several times, I was going for a very subtle look.  Once dry, I used my Wink of Stella pen to add some sparkle, then I covered the whole thing with Glossy Accents and set it aside to dry while I worked on the rest of my card.   I used two of my favorite products to finish up my card, Lil' Inkers On the Diagonal Die to cut my patterned paper.  I love that I get a perfect cut each and every time.  And, of course, I used a sprinkling of my favorite Pretty Pink Posh Marshmallow Sequins.

Happy Day

If anyone knows how to do flower stamp sets, it's Papertrey Ink!  You all know I'm a long time fan of Rosie Posie, it is by far my most loved stamp set ever.  My friend Kristie and I have been swapping stamps a bit and I asked her if she could send along Happiness in Bloom.  I think I received it on Thursday and had it inked up and ordered by Saturday.  How's that for a turn around time?  I'm completely in love with it!

I used this weeks CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge to get me started.  Only I could turn snowman arms into leaves, haha!

Yes, I'm dreaming of warm days when the flowers are in bloom :)

CASology - JUMP

*I'm so sorry for my super late post this week :(

It's time for a new CASology Cue Card!!!

I struggled with JUMP!  This is two weeks in a row.  What's up with that?
I found this stamp, bees make me jump and with the addition of the swirl under him, it looks like he's jumping too :)

I've been loving this design lately, trimming off the card front and placing card stock or patterned paper on the inside of the card.  This adds interest without adding layers.  I love that!

Festive Friday on Sunday

I've never been one to make Christmas cards all year long.  This year I've made four already.  I know it's not a ton, but usually I pack up my Christmas goodies in December and don't look at them again until July or August.  I'm not sure what's different this year.  Maybe it's the 3 feet of snow we've gotten over the past week :)

My cards were inspired by this weeks Festive Friday Challenge.

I hope you are having a nice weekend, maybe even a nice LONG weekend if you are in the US and have off for President's Day!!

Thanks for stopping by!!!

Curtain Call - Cozy Quilt

Lil' Inker Designs is sponsoring this week's Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge and some of the DT is playing along.  This cozy quilt made me think of stitching and hearts.

There were so many fun patterns and colors in the inspiration photo, my design really could have gone anywhere.  With stitching and hearts on my brain, I started routing through my patterned paper stash.  I came across the perfect paper in the Cut & Paste collection from Amy Tangerine.  I used that along with the Lil' Inkers Stitched Hearts Die and a sentiment from Modern Mehndi to make my super simple, warm and cozy card :)

Head to Curtain Call for all of the challenge details and to see what their amazing team did with the inspiration.

Have a good one!

Red!

The newest challenge at StampNation went up yesterday.  This week it's all about the color RED, a little red or a lot!  Perfect since today is Valentine's Day :)

Our DT member Wendy is our sponsor this week.  She's giving away two CTMH stamp sets.  I used one of those sets on my card (upper left), tons of cute images and sentiments!

CASE Study #178

Welcome to another week of fabulous inspiration at CASE Study!
We continue with our February muse

This is probably my favorite card by Danielle Flanders.  I was thrilled when I saw it on the line up for this month.  I went to my stamp table with rainbows, clouds and hearts on my mind.

To make my focal point, I started my card by cutting 1/4 inch stripes of rainbow colored cardstock and lining them all on a piece of scrap paper.  Then I die cut the Cloudy Sky Die by Lil Inkers from White card stock and placed my rainbow piece behind it.  I love all of that color peeking through behind the clouds :)

Thinking of you

Hello, I hope you are having a wonderfully crafty week!  Today I'm playing along in the 2nd Week of the Wplus9 Birthday Celebration.  Adding dimension is a great way to spruce up a CAS card.  Here I've framed my sentiment with a cluster of flowers and leaves, both from Wplus9.  I kept my card neutral and only added a pop of color to the flowers, I think that gives them even more dimension.

This card is also being added to the "We Love Stamps" challenge at Simon Says Stamp.
Thanks for stopping in!

Lil' Inker Designs - February Release Blog Hop Day 3

My first release as part of the Lil' Inker Design team has been amazing.  Thank you for all of the comments, I really appreciate it!!!  If you haven't stopped by yet this week you'll want to scroll down to see days 1 & 2, Lil' Inker has added some amazing new products to their already amazing line!

You should have arrived here from Kristen Foreman's blog.  If not, head to the Lil' Inker Store Blog to start from the beginning.

I have two cards for you today.  The first using the Cloudy Sky Die & Stay Beautiful.

In the negative space of the die cut Cloudy Sky, I colored with Distress Markers on watercolor paper.  Then I brushed over it with an aquapainter to blend the colors and heat set it to dry.  I die cit the Cloudy Sky Die from white cardstock and placed that over the watercolored background.
I love the subtle washed color in the background.
I popped up a few of those adorable stitched clouds for some added interest.

Did you happen to see Amy Kolling's card yesterday.  My eyes nearly popped out of my head.  Why you ask?  We basically made the same card, how funny is that?  We must have been each others heads or sharing the same wave length something, haha :)  You have to pop over there and see for yourselves!

Here's my card using Stay Beautiful again and Anytime Tags.  I just love these tags.

Time to keep hopping along now.  Next up is Sarah Jay, so head over to her blog because you know she'll have something AMAZING to show you.  Make sure to leave comments along the way too, because Laura is giving away 3 - $15 Store Credits!

Lil' Inker February Release Blog Hop - Day One

Today is the day we've been waiting for!  Lil' Inkers February release is now available!!  The release includes 2 new stamp sets, 2 new dies sets & 2 new individual dies.

You should have arrived here from Kristen Foreman's blog.  If not, head to the Lil' Inker Store Blog to start from the beginning.

Today I have two Valentine cards for you.  These aren't just any card either, they each have a little something extra.

First up is a photo card using the much anticipated Stitched Hearts Dies!  You KNOW you've been waiting for these.

I paired the Stitched Hearts with the Instant Camera Die and the Love Things stamp set.  I did a little inking with Fresh Snow ink for the chalkboard effect.  To keep my card CAS, I kept the hearts on the right to ensure plenty of white space.  This card will be for my hubby from the kids :)

My next card is perfect for kids or teachers for Valentine's Day, or any occasion by changing the sentiment and papers.  How adorable & CLEVER is this Give a Hoot Gift Card Holder?

I added some Stitched Hearts to this card too and stamped the wing with the xoxo sentiment from Love Things.  The Give a Hoot Gift Card Holder can be used on it's own or you can attach it to a card front (like I did here), add it too a gift bag etc!  I LOVE it!

Time to keep hopping along now.  Next up is the talented Sarah Jay, so head over to her blog.  Make sure to leave comments along the way because Laura is giving away 3 - $15 Store Credits!
