CAS(E) this Sketch #90

*This is my second post today.  Please scroll down to view my Lil' Inker Designs post!

It's time for a new sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch!

I struggled here a bit and finally decided to flip the sketch...

Not only did I struggle with the sketch this week, I also struggled with my photography!  It happens to the best of us :)  I used the new Neon inks from Tsukineko, they are quite radiant in real life but look a bit dull in my photo.  I wish you could see how they pop off of the black.  I think this close up picture gives you a better idea about the brilliance of the Neon color.

Head over to CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of the DT as inspired by this week's sketch.

Stamps:  Dodecagram, Label Love (Altenew)
Ink:  Electric Pink, Electric Coral, Electric Orange Radiant Neon ink (Tsukineko) True Black (PTI)

Lil' Inker Designs August Release Day 2

Are you loving the new Lil' Inker release Fun and SPOOKY right?!  If you haven't checked out the full release make sure you do so, everything is available now in the Lil' Inker Store

You should have arrived here from Mary Dawn Quirindongo's Blog.  If not, head to the Lil' Inker Store Blog to start from the beginning.

My first card today features the Boo & Faces stamp set, the Spooky Word Die and the Stitched Ghost die set.

I'm not big into celebrating Halloween, so I had to make my ghost cute.
How adorable is he all tied up with a bow?

I did some inlaid die cutting here and went crazy for stitches.  Everything seems more finished and complete with stitching.  I added a bit of Wink of Stella to the Spooky word die too.

I've made coordinating envelopes too for each of my projects this release using the Stitched Envelope Liner die.  I forgot to post mine yesterday, so before I forget again, here's one that coordinates with my "spooky" cute ghost.

My next card is definitely spooky.  I've used the Ghost Border Die set.

Boo!

Kinda spooky right?  I prettied him up a bit though with Timeless Twine and enamel dots so he wouldn't scare the kids away ;)

Time to keep hopping along now.  Next up is Sarah Jay, so head over to her blog because you know she'll have something AMAZING to show you.  Make sure to leave comments along the way too, because Laura is giving away 3 - $15 Store Credits!

Have fun hopping & shopping!  See you tomorrow!

Lil' Inkers August Release - Day 1

The fun begins today with the first of three days of blog hops for the Lil' Inkers July release.  All of the new, amazing products are available NOW in the Lil' Inker StoreYou must check it out, this release is a bit spooky!

You should have arrived here from Mary Dawn Quirindongo's Blog.  If not, head to the Lil' Inker Store Blog to start from the beginning.

My card today features the Classic Halloween stamp set.

I went with a graphic design, one that would let this sentiment really stand out.

I started by painting with Dandelion and Morocco irRESISTible ink directly on my card stock.  This paint dries with a bit of texture which is really cool!  Once dy, I heat embossed the sentiment over the paint.  I stamped some bats and spider webs from the bottom right, to the top left to add movement to the design.  Splattered ink, a sprinkling of sequins and a bow tied with Tuxedo Black Timeless Twine finish off this card perfectly!

Stamp-A-Faire - The 60's

This morning Kristie and I got up and made one last card for Stamp-A-Faire.  Our hope was to create a card for every challenge but our creative juices gave out before we were able to do that!  I really liked the dies, papers and stamps included in the 1960's set, so I HAD to give this one a go.  I struggled a bit, probably because I could barely think anymore, who knew stamping could be SO hardcore?  But I was determined and it paid off in the end.  This turned out to be one of my favorites from the weekend.

Well, that wraps up Stamp-A-Faire for me!  Thanks to Nichole and the entire Papertrey Ink team for this amazing creative event :)

Stamp-A-Faire - The 40's

Betsy hosted the 40's...we were to create a symmetrical design or pattern using various stamps.  I was totally in on this one because I love to build my own backgrounds.  While Kristie used the stamp set that was provided in the kit, I used WPlus9's new set Papel Picado.  I was a surprised that the outcome was so nordic looking.  I thought a die from the One Liners set would be perfect for this card, I really wanted the background to be the main focus so a simple sentiment is what I needed.  I stacked two die cuts on top of one another and covered them with Wink of Stella for a bit of shine!

Stamp-A-Faire - The 20's

For the 1920's were to create a project using  glitz and glam.  As I'm reading the challenge I see we were supposed to create an embellishment that uses glitter and rhinestones, whoops!  Initially I did create an embellishment using the die included in our kits, but I made a very bad glitter choice and ruined it :(  I didn't want to hold Kristie back, so I decided to use the stamp from the kit and embellish it with rhinestones.  Then I covered a strip of double sided tape with glitter.   I think this will make a really nice wedding card, don't you?

Stamp-A-Faire - Regency

The next era was the Regency.  For this challenge we were to gold emboss on vellum, then rub a dark colored ink over it.  I'm not sure that I love the results I got, maybe because this is so far outside my norm, but it was fun to try.  I really love the card Kristie made for this challenge, it's actually my favorite card that she made all weekend!

Stamp-a-Faire - The Renaissance Wax Seals

Next Nichole showed us how to make wax seals and use them on our cards.  The techniques have certainly been unique and we are pushing ourselves outside our comfort levels, that is for sure.  I used a stamp from the Instant Photo Holidays stamp set to make my seal!

Here's a close up look...

I'll be back later or tomorrow morning with more.  Stay tuned!

Stamp-a-Faire The Renaissance - Velvet Stamping

Next we traveled to The Renaissance era.  Nichole taught us Velvet Stamping.  This one was really hard to photograph but we got a cool look from the technique!

Stamp-a-Faire Ancient Rome

This is my 2nd post of the day, please scroll down to see my Timer Challenge card!

For the second Stamp-a-Faire challenge of the day we traveled to Ancient Rome and learned some Faux Mosaic techniques.  This has been my favorite of the day so far.  I've been wanting the PTI Leave It Be stamp set and was so happy to find it in Kristie's stash.

Cool, right?!

Stamp-a-Faire Timer Challenge

Hello!  Kristie and I have been creating all day!  The first challenge was a timer challenge.  We had to choose a sketch and color combo and create a card in 20 minutes.  I finished my entire card but the Sparkling Clear Sequins which I added after the timer went off.  This was a great way to kick off a fun day!

Stamp-a-Faire 2014 Meet & Greet

Kristie and I got up bright and early this morning to participate in Papertrey's Stamp-a-Faire event.  This is the first either of us has participated and we are really excited!!!

We'll be popping in and out throughout the day, see you later :)

I know everyone is loving these dies, they've been selling out like crazy!

CAS(E) this Sketch #89

It's time for a new sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch!

Here's my take...

Don't these Fancy Feathers just make you feel happy?  Me too :)  I recently received a HUGE box of goodies from IMAGINE Crafts/Tsukineko.  They seriously spoiled the StampNation Design Team.  Included in my box were several Kaleidacolor ink pads and I was excited to give them a try.  The cool thing about them is that the colors can be used separately or you can slide all of the inks together to get the look I have on my feathers above.  Awesome stuff!  Definitely a fun product.

This week's sketch is a great one.  A perfect basic sketch to keep in the back of your mind whenever you are creating.  I loved it so much, I made two cards this week.  I'll share the other one in a few days.I hope you'll play along with us!  Head over to CAS(E) this Sketch to see how the rest of the DT as inspired by this week's sketch.

Lil' Inker Designs & Timeless Twine

Lil' Inkers has joined forces with Timeless Twine to provide you with a week full of inspiration.  Each of the Design Teams will be sharing projects using both Lil' Inker & Timeless Twine products.  Fun right?!!!

I'm using Lil' Inkers Fancy Feathers and Tuxedo Black twine from Timeless Twine.  Can I just tell you these spools of twine are huge, I mean HUGE.  What an incredible value.

I die cut three Fancy Feathers from white card stock and sponged with Distress inks, then I stamped the bold feathers.  I added them to my card with dimensionals in varied directions to add movement to my design.  The final touch was a triple tied bow, one of my go-to's.  Yes, it's a basic, simple way to use twine, but it works and perfectly completes this CAS card.

Head on over to the Lil' Inkers blog.  Laura is giving away at $25 store credit to one lucky commenter!

Tag You're It! #4

It's time for a new challenge over at Tag You're It!

Here's my take on the challenge...

I particularly love the colors of Marion's tag and wanted to pull those into my design.  I started by die cutting my tag using the Tag Me dies from Reverse Confetti.  Next, I stamped the Painted Flowers by Altenew in WPlus9 Sweet Nectar, Flamingo and Mojito inks.  I also used a large hello sentiment, like Marion did on her tag.  Mine was stamped in True Black ink using the WPlus9 Hand Lettered Hello set.  I usually add my tags to cards but I left this one to use for when I need to add a little something to a jar or gift bag.

Head over to Tag You're It! to see how the rest of the DT was inspired.  I hope to see you playing along.  Our challenges are open for two weeks, so you have plenty of time to play :)
