Bubble Talk

I made this card just for fun.  Geez, it's been a while since I've been able to do that! I made the Stitched Heart border was made last month but it never made it onto a card.  I knew I'd find a use for it!  These little ellies from the last release are too adorable and  I love that I am seeing them everywhere too.  It seems like everyone has fallen in love with them!  How could you not?

I'll be back next week with the WPlus9 June Release!  There's another little guy coming that you'll all fall in love with.  Just you wait!

Sprinkled Petal Power

I hope my American friends enjoyed the long weekend.  We had a quiet weekend here at home and enjoyed our first long hike of the season on the beautiful Ridgeline Trail of the Pocono Educational Education Center.  Our home is surrounded by state forests and parks, PEEC is our favorite as it's not as frequented by tourists as some of the others.  I bet you didn't come here today to hear about that though ;)

Last month I posted a CAS card where I used patterned paper, you can see that here.  Incorporating patterned paper into CAS designs can be tricky.  Above is probably my favorite way to include patterned paper into my designs, lining a card front!  Placing patterned paper on your card base and then layering a white panel over it really gives your card a CAS look!  So don't shy away from patterned paper, challenge yourself to use it in small bits or like I've done here.

I hope you all have a great week!

My color palette was inspired by this week's Fusion Challenge.

Awesome Birthday

I recently started volunteering making cards with Seniors on Fridays.  It's definitely a highlight in my week!  At first I was told to prepare cards that were about the level of Kindergarten, so that's what I did.  They were done with the my project in minutes.  These are not Kindergarteners, these ladies can stamp!  I've been basing my projects around holidays, seasons etc but last week I asked what they wanted to make next time.  What did they say?  Masculine birthday cards.  Oye!  Masculine cards are hard!  My project has to be easy enough, without too many techniques, but I want them to be awesome too.  When I spotted my Kaliedacolor ink pads I knew exactly what I'd do.  I love that just by using this ink pad I get such a variety of color.  This card also gives you that, "How did you do that" feeling right?  Love that!

It's been a long week friends!  TGIF!!!

Stamps:  Birthday Balloon, Happy Everything (Clearly Whimsy)
Ink:  Vineyard Kaleidacolor (Tsukineko) Crumb Cake, Early Espresso (SU)

Lil' Inker Designs May Monthly Meet Up

I can't believe it's already time for a Lil' Inker Meet Up, this one really snuck up on me!  I decided to use my new favorite stamp set, Awesome Blossoms, I just can't seem to stop using these stamps!

I love the playful style of these little blooms!  I had a blast making this card.  I first die cut the Rounded Rectangles from white card stock, then did all of the stamping.  To make my sentiment from Send Pretty Greetings pop, I white embossed on black.  That is always a striking details to add to your card designs.

The overall idea and colors were inspired by a card I recently received from Kara, she really knows color right!?  Look at this gorgeous card...

Looks like one of my cats got to the butterfly :(

Sweet Sunday & Morning or Night?

I'm a morning person.  I'm up on weekdays at 4:30am.  I have a little challenge with myself to see how much I can get done by 7:00...some days I'll have my third load of laundry in, dishwasher unloaded and reloaded, 3 bathrooms cleaned , all beds made and rooms straightened.  But don't expect me to get a thing done after 7:00, my brain has already been shut down for an hour or so.  You are probably wondering why I brought this up.  I do have a point!

See that card above?  I started that card after dinner on Sunday night.  That is something I never, ever do.  I know from experience that nothing good comes from stamping after dinner.  This card was no different.  I sat at my desk throwing away paper for two hours, when I finally said to Doug, "That's it, I'm done.  I don't know why I even tried this tonight."  I showed him that after two hours all I had was the sponged area on this card.  I started cleaning my desk when I saw the Encouraging Words stamp set and BAM, my card was done minutes later.  I turned around and told Doug that I finished my card and he looked at me like I had 5 heads.  "Didn't you just tell me that you were done?"

Inquiring minds want to know, are you an early bird or do you burn the midnight oil?

My design was inspired by this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch.

Stamps:  Encouraging Words (WPlus9)
Ink:  Mowed Lawn, Peacock Feathers Distress Inks (Ranger) Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Paper:  Whisper White (SU) Black (WPlus9)
