Quilted Produce

A few months back, I offered to make thank you cards for my cousin's rustic country wedding, you can see those cards here.  Last week, he and his wife asked me to make them a set of 25 thank you cards for a program they are running for Thrive.  Have you heard of Thrive?  I hadn't until I visited them in South Carolina.  I came home with tons of freeze dried fruit, veggies and meatthat my kids snacked on all the way from South Carolina to Pennsylvania.  They actually chose to eat pineapples and corn over chips, can you believe that?  If you want to eat healthy and waste less produce (how much do you throw away?) visit Jamie & Leigh Ann's website, Carolina Food Storage to learn more about Thrive!

Ok, onto the card...WPlus9's Punny Produce line is the perfect stamp set for thank you cards for Thrive orders.  I stamped the images repeatedly and worked in assembly line style to get them all done and in the mail quickly.  Once the images were stamped, I ran them through the Big Shot with Lil' Inkers Quilted Stitched Pattern Die.  I just love the country charm that detail added to the cards!

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you are having a great week!

Sending Happy Thoughts - Tag Game

Have you ever played a tag game?  Sure, we all did as kids!  But what about an adult version for card makers?  Now I'm talkin' right!!!  That's exactly what we did at the end of last week over at StampNation

Ally adds so many fun things to our community.  She's always chatting and stirring up conversation, whether it's about what your working on or what you plan to do over the weekend.  When I saw her Card Tag Game posted I got really excited, what a neat idea.  This is how it works...

All of the participants were assigned to a team randomly.  The first person on each team received a link to a card in the StampNation Gallery.   That person had 48 hours to create a card that CASEs the linked/photograph of the card they are assigned.  Once that person had CASEd that card, they emailed a photo of their completed card  to Ally and she passed it along to the next person in line on their team via email.  It continues on down each list of participants on their team.

What you wind up with at the end of the game is a CASE of a CASE of a CASE...you get the idea.

The card above was my submission to the game.  Since I had Pretty Peonies out from my Throwback Thursday projects, I decided to use it again (I love that set!).  I pulled the colors and use of a die cut as a focal point from the card I was given to CASE.  This is one of my favorite colors combos.  I don't use it much during the Winter season, so it was fun to use them on my card.

We do so many fun things like this at StampNation.  If you haven't joined yet, you should!

CAS Birthday App - Update Available

When Doug and I started our App journey together last Summer, we set a goal of 4 apps by the end of 2014.  We made it half way to our goal.  With Doug teaching a new AP level course, his free time is limited and his hobby of programming was put on the back burner.  Let's face it, without him, there's no app.

Our CAS Birthday App has really taken off, so we decided over the Christmas break to work on an update for that one.  We had it ALMOST perfectly timed to launch at the same time as StampNation's 4th Birthday Bash, but missed it by a couple of days.

The update includes two new cards, supplies and step-by-step instructions, as well as a couple other changes that make the app even more user friendly.  Here's a little peek:

If you have the CAS Birthday App, make sure you update for new projects.

If you haven't gotten our FREE app yet, click here to download now from the app store!

***There is a glitch on the iPad version.  The Project Preview on the Faux Shaker is not correct.
You can see the full card by scrolling to the bottom of the Faux Shaker Project Steps.
We are putting in another update, it should be fixed in a week or so!
Sorry for the inconvenience.

*At this time, the App is only available for iPhone and iPad users.  My husband is a self-taught programmer, it's his hobby and something he does for fun.   We are a 100% Apple family, which is how he is able to build Apps and test them on Apple products. Perhaps it is something he will do in the future, but not at this time.  Sorry :(

Distress Marker Technique with Simon Says Stamp

*This is my second post today.
Please scroll down for my Lil' Inker Designs release post.

We are still partying in celebration of StampNation's 4th birthday celebration.  I'm "off" again today over there, but I decided to make a card for our challenge to share with you here. Today I'm using products from our Sponsor Simon Says Stamp

I made this video for the members at StampNation, but I decided to share it here.  Sometimes it's easier to watch a technique being done, rather than reading about it.

Enjoy!

Lil' Inker Designs January Release Day 3

It's the last day of the Lil' Inker Design Team Blog Hops.  If you haven't checked out the new release make sure you do so, everything is available now in the Lil' Inker Store

You should have arrived here from Lisa Henke's Blog.  If not, head to the Lil' Inker Store Blog to start from the beginning.

I have two more projects to share with you today.  My first card is a CAS OLC with a little bling featuring...

I love these little banners.  The set comes with two banners, one stitched and the other unstitched.  I went with a gradient look and added sequin confetti to give this card a party feel.

My last card for this release uses the Quilted Swirl die.

This paper is a bit louder than I'd usually use, but I just love it!  I ran this through with the Quilted Swirl die and it really looks like a quilt!  LOOK!

I like to pair up new products with old ones so you can see ways that they can be used with things you may already have in your stash!  Here I used Spot On and the Stitched Butterflies.

Time to keep hopping along now.  Next up is Sarah Jay, so head over to her blog because you know she'll have something AMAZING to show you.  Make sure to leave comments along the way too, because Laura is giving away 3 - $15 Store Credits!

I hope you've enjoyed my release projects!  I'm excited to start seeing some of these products popping up around blog land!

Birthday Cards for Kids with Clearly Whimsy

*This is my 2nd post today.
Please scroll down for my Lil' Inkers January release post!

It's day 3 of our 4th birthday celebration for StampNation!  Today's challenge is "Birthday Cards for Kids".  I'm "off" today over at SN, but I just had to play along using this adorable stamp set called Birthday Balloon from our sponsor, Clearly Whimsy.

How adorable is this?!  My son saw this set sitting on my stamp table and his eyes lit up, "That is sooooo cool", then he went on and on about what I could do with it.  I knew I'd be using this for the "Birthday Card for Kids" challenge!

Cards for kids are hard for me.  Now that I'm sending cards to Kare Mail 4 Kids, I knew I better build up my stash and find ways to make them easier for me.  I was looking to make a gender neutral card, so I set off to Pinterest to find a color combo that seemed suitable for both boys and girls.  This one jumped right out at me.  I think it will become my go-to for kids, it's fun and bright, just like kids are!

Once I started stamping, I couldn't stop!  I made three cards using Birthday Balloon and this color combo.

*Looks like my black ink needs some reinking :(

I'm so excited with how these turned out and now I have a stash of birthday cards for kids.  Birthday Balloon is definitely a set I will turn to time and time again.  In one stamping session I found a go-to stamp set and color combo for kids!

I hope you've joined us at StampNation.  Whimsy Stamps has given us THREE $25 gift certificates to give away to participating members.  PLUS, StampNation members get a FREE stamp set with a purchase of $50 or more!!!!

Lil' Inker Designs January Release Day 2

We are back with our second day of design team blog hops for the Lil' Inker Designs January release.  Have you seen all of the fabulous new products in the  Lil' Inker Store?  You must check it out!

You should have arrived here from Lisa Henke's.  If not, head to the Lil' Inker Store Blog to start from the beginning.

Today's projects are all about total cuteness :)

How cute is this little treat holder?  I planned to make them for my 4th grader to give out for Valentine's but he has informed me that he is WAY to big to bring in something like this!  Well, excuse me.  LOL!  He and his brother both enjoyed the lollipops though :)  These little robots are so fun to play with!

My next card uses the Perfect Pairs stamp set.

Oh my, how cute are all of these?  The mac and cheese cracks me up!  I colored these straight on with Copic markers (no blending, easy peasy).

Time to keep hopping along now.  Next up is Sarah Jay, so head over to her blog because you know she'll have something AMAZING to show you.  Make sure to leave comments along the way too, because Laura is giving away 3 - $15 Store Credits!

See you tomorrow!

Lil' Inker Designs January Release Day 1

The fun begins today with the first of three days of blog hops for the Lil' Inkers January release.  All of the new, amazing products are available NOW in the Lil' Inker StoreThis month you'll be feeling the love, as well as getting a twist on LID's signature stitched dies!

You should have arrived here from Lisa Henke's blog.  If not, head to the Lil' Inker Store Blog to start from the beginning.

Today I am starting right off with my absolute faves from this release!   The Center Point Chevron Cover Up Die and Love Is All You Need.

I had a blast with this card!  I die cut the Center Point Chevron then used it as a stencil.  I love how this came out.  The font on this stamp...LOVE.  Because the stenciling is so bold I wanted to add just a subtle detail to the background.  To do that I die cut the Stitched Hearts then added them with dimensionals.  This subtle effect doesn't take away from the background, it just adds a little something special.

Using the same Love Is All You Need stamp set and the new Stitched Mats:  Side-Stitched Rectangles, I made this CAS card.

To make this card, I colored a piece of Distress Watercolor Paper with Distress Markers then sprayed it with water.  Once it dried, I flicked a bit more water on it then heat embossed with white over the watercoloring, then die cut it using the awesome new Side-Stitched Rectangle die!  I contemplated adding a bit more to the design but decided to leave it ultra-simple.

Time to keep hopping along now.  Next up is Sarah Jay, so head over to her blog because you know she'll have something AMAZING to show you.  Make sure to leave comments along the way too, because Laura is giving away 3 - $15 Store Credits!

Have fun hopping & shopping!  See you tomorrow!

Pretty Pink Posh is One!

Hello, and welcome to the Pretty Pink Posh Birthday Blog Hop!  This is day 2 of a 3 day hop, so make sure you head over to Pretty Pink Posh and check out everything that is going on there.  Paulina is giving away all kind of goodies, so make sure to join in the fun.

For my card today I'm using the new Peek-a-Boo and Stitched Duo 3 dies.

I know a lot of the designers are going to do something really cool with this Peek-a-Boo die.  For some reason all I could think was..."POW" and super heroes :)  I've recently started sending cards to Kare Mail 4 Kids.  I know these cards are going to make some little boy very happy!  I'm planning to close that peek-a-boo for mailing (that's why I didn't fold them all the way back) then the little boys that receive them can open them to reveal a surprise.

Time to hop along...

Make sure you leave comments along the way to be entered to win a prize.  Also stop by the Pretty Pink Posh Blog for a special 3 day coupon!

It has been ages since I've played along in a challenge.  This past weekend while the guys were all watching football I snuck off too do some stamping.  CAS(E) this Sketch #104 was calling my name.

I took some liberty with the sketch and adjusted it to fit my design. This card came together quite quickly.  The addition of the white embossed sentiment and pops of red really were the perfect details to add to this OLC.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Get ready for a busy week of posts, lots of fun stuff coming up!!!  Woohoo :)
