WCMD 2016 - Hello World Blog Hop

Hello, and welcome to the Hello World Blog hop and Happy WCMD.  You should have arrived here from Catherine's blog.  If not, make sure you head over there to start from the beginning.

I am thrilled to be a part of this blog hop.  Why you might ask?  This isn't just any old blog hop.  Today we are taking part in a fundraiser, we are raising funds to purchase computers for children who go to a school that doesn't have the money for a curriculum, let alone computers.  Most of these children don't even have a computer in their homes.  Imagine what this fundraiser can do for these children?!

Catherine teamed up with Chaitali and together they designed the Hello World Stamp Set & Dies.

All of the proceeds from the sale of the Hello World Stamp Set & Dies from Oct 1st - 7th will go to purchase computers and supplies for these children!

WOW, pretty amazing stuff right there.  You really need to go to Catherine's blog and read about how the stars aligned on this project.

I guess you want to see a card using the Hello World stamps & dies!

How fun is that big "Hello"?  And I LOVE that there are coordinating dies!!  Oh yeah, there is something else that is new to the Catherine Pooler Designs line, YAY Stripes.  This set is a must-have!!  I'm always wanting just a little snippet of stripes on my cards!

You need the Hello World stamp set, you know you do.  And if you purchase it in the next week all of the profits go to children.  What a great cause!!  Win-Win!

Head over to the store and shop 'til you drop.

Then start hopping along.

Starry Stag & limited boxes left!

It's no secret that this stag is one of my favorite images in the SOA Candy Cane Lane collection!  I love dressing up those antlers!!

My full card is over on Catherine's blog today.  She says I'm "moving in on her territory".  Pft!  You'll have to head over there to see what I mean :)

We have a limited number of boxes left, make sure you grab one before they are gone!

SOA Candy Cane Lane is NOW available!

Today is the day!

Order your collection before it's too late.
Candy Cane Lane is only available while supplies last!

I have one more card for you using Candy Cane Lane & the Peppermint Stick Background stamp.

I had a blast making my own patterned paper here.  I actually had this idea in my head from the moment I saw this background stamp.  I stamped the Peppermint Stick Background three times, once in Pure Poppy ink, once in New Leaf and once in Hawaiian Shores.  Next I cut each into 1/2 inch pieces.  On a piece of computer paper, I adhered each of the pieces, making sure to line up the pattern.  This is a super fun way to use large background stamps!

Seriously, this collection is a must have!  I probably say it every release, but this one is my favorite.  I have so many ideas for it too.

Get yours NOW, before it's too late!

SOA Candy Cane Lane Blog Hop

Welcome to Day Three of the Stamp of Approval Cane Cane Lane Blog Hops.  Today myself and some of my favorite designers are sharing cards using the Stamp of Approval Candy Cane Lane Collection!  The Stamp of Approval is an exclusive collection of stamps, dies and accessories hand picked by Catherine Pooler.  I've been sharing some projects for the past few days, so be sure to check those out HERE and HERE.

The Stamp of Approval Candy Cane Lane Collection will be released to the Wait List tomorrow!!  And, by the looks of the Wait List, it's going to sell out quickly.  This is a limited collection that will only be available until they are sold out, so make sure that you are on the Wait List to be notified when it is available.  StampNation members that are on the Wait List will be notified first (a little perk of being a member!) and then the rest of the Wait List will be contacted!  The collection will release to the general public on the 22nd (IF there are boxes left!)

Today I'm sharing two cards, both rustic Christmas, my favorite to make!

I don't usually gush over my own cards, but this one...THIS is what Christmas cards should look like.  I definitely favor traditional color combinations for my holiday cards and anything with a rustic flair!

This card was also easy to make and if I decide to mass produce some cards this year, this will be it!  Just stamp the card base with the Merry & Bright boughs,  Then stamp and die cut the stag and bird from Hip Holiday.  Die cut the Merry Labels die, sponge and assemble.

My next card uses the same basic idea of randomly stamping images, but this time I did it on a panel and used more of the images from Merry & Bright Boughs.

This is another super simple card to mass produce.   I started with a 4 x 5 1/4" piece of Oatmeal cardstock.  Then I stamped the top of the panel with a variety of images from Merry & Bright Boughs and Hip Holiday.  There are so many fun little accents hidden in these sets, they make background stamping and embellishing a blast!  The "Merry Christmas" sentiment from Hip Holiday is definitely going to be my go-to for my holiday cards, inside & out.  To finish this card, I tied the top with Linen Thread and added the stamped panel to a Cherry Cobbler card base.

That's it from me today!  It's time to start hopping along.

Make sure to leave a comment on each blog because Catherine is giving away a Stamp of Approval Candy Cane Lane Collection for EACH day of the hops.   That is 3 boxes!  The more times you comment, the more chances you will have of to win! (If the winner has already purchased a box, they will be refunded!)

You've got until Thursday at 9:00AM EST to get those comments in. The winner will be announced on Catherine Pooler's blog!  Good luck and happy hopping!

SOA - More of the Candy Cane Lane Collection

I hope you've enjoyed seeing bits and pieces from the Candy Cane Lane collection!  Today is the second day of hops.   I'm not officially "on" but I have lots to share.  Once I started creating with these products, I just couldn't stop :)

My card today features something from just about every set in the Candy Cane Lane collection.  I always love how the products in each Stamp of Approval box work so well together, so you can make many cohesive designs with them.

This card came together using a bunch of leftovers from other projects, I love when that happens!   All I did was stamp the sentiment from Merry & Bright Bright Boughs, stamp and die cut a few of the peppermint candies from Candy Cane Lane, assemble this and that and this card was done!

I hope you've been enjoying the blog hops this week.  Head over to Catherine's blog so you can join in today's blog hop!  We are giving away a box each day, so you will definitely want to leave comments.  The more comments you leave, the more chances you have to win!

See you tomorrow for Day 3 of the Candy Cane Lane blog hops!

Stamp of Approval - Candy Cane Lane Collection

It's almost time for the next Stamp of Approval release!  WOOHOO!
The Candy Cane Lane Collection releases on...
September 21st
(to the Waitlist) & the 22nd to the general public!

If you haven't heard of the Stamp of Approval yet, you may be wondering what it is all about.  My friend Catherine Pooler has been working with top companies in the stamp industry (CAS-ual Fridays, SugarPea Designs & Neat & Tangled etc) to develop an exclusive collection of versatile stamps and supplies that will work together or separately to create many unique cards.  Along with the products in the box, you also receive a Project Guide giving you step-by-step instructions on how to create many, many cards using the collection.

Catherine has spent the past couple of days previewing some of the new products.  Today kicks off the first of three days of blog hops before the big release on Wednesday.   I'm not officially "on" today, but I've made a bunch of cards with the collection and I'm really excited to share them with you.

My card today features the Candy Cane Lane & the Peppermint Stick Background stamp sets.

How cute are these candy canes?  I'm so in love with them.  Actually, a while back when we started planning for the SOA holiday collection, I came up with the concept of patterned candy canes.  It has been an amazing process seeing that idea come to life.

While I usually gravitate toward traditional color combinations for Christmas, I decided to go with something a little different on this card.  The clean and graphic layout and black accents really make this design pop.

Head on over to Catherine's blog where you can participate in the blog hop.  A box is being given away each day, so make sure you leave comments along the way.

I'll be back tomorrow with another card using the SOA Candy Candy Lane collection.

Color Challenge with the Color Layering Deer

We have a new color challenge up at StampNation that made the whole team start on their holiday card making!

I used the new Color Layering Deer by Hero Arts.  This stamp is definitely going to be seeing a lot of love this holiday season.  I can't get over how realistic it is!  Look...

How awesome is this stamp set?!?!

I'd love to have you join in our challenge, BUT you have to be a member to play along!

I hope to see you there!

Grand Opening Blog Hop!

Today is the day!

Catherine's online store is opening TODAY which means all of those wonderful Stamp of Approval goodies that you missed out on can now be purchased!

Myself and some of my favorite crafty friends are hopping along in celebration of the grand opening using product that will be available for purchase later today.  (To be notified of the store opening, sign up for Catherine's newsletter, she will be sending an email as soon as the store is ready!!)

I pulled out lots of Stamp of Approval goodies for this card!

Um, hello!  How much do you love the Geobuilders stamp set?!!  I have a feeling this is going to be loaded into many shopping carts today.  It's definitely one of my favorite and one of the most versatile stamp sets that we've had in the SOA collections to date.  Use it as a border, an accent or build a background like I've done here.  The possibilities are endless!

To make my card, I started with a 4 x 5 1/4" piece of white card stock.  I stamped the background using the Geobuilders stamp set in Silver Lining, Raspberry Fizz and Tuxedo Black inks.  The centers of the larger gem images were stamped with a small accent stamp from Snowy Sayings.  Next I die cut the medium sized tag from the Tag Buddies Fri-die set and added a thin strip of black card stock to the bottom.  I die cut the Friend Fri-die twice from white card stock and once from Raspberry Fizz.  I layered and adhered them for some added dimension.  The sentiment from Girlfriends was stamped in black ink and then I assembled the card.  I stamped a few little accent pieces and finished off the card with a twine bow.

Time to start hopping along.  Make sure you leave comments along the way, Catherine is giving away THREE - $25 gift certificates to her online store.

Stamps:  Geobuilders (CP Designs) Girlfriend, Snowy Sayings (CAS-ual Fridays)
Ink:  Silver Lining (WPlus9) Raspberry Fizz (Papertrey Ink) Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Paper:  White (SU) Black (WP9) Raspberry Fizz (Papertrey Ink)

SOA Lovely Notes Collection Blog Hop

Welcome to Day Two of the Stamp of Approval Lovely Notes Blog Hops.  Today myself and some of my favorite designers are sharing cards using the Stamp of Approval Lovely Notes Collection!  The Stamp of Approval is an exclusive collection of stamps, dies and accessories hand picked by Catherine Pooler.

The Stamp of Approval Lovely Notes Collection will be released in just two days!!  By the looks of the Wait List, it's going to sell out quickly.  This is a limited collection that will only be available until they are sold out, so make sure that you are on the Wait List to be notified when it is available.  StampNation members that are on the Wait List will be notified first (a little perk of being a member!) and then the rest of the Wait List will be contacted!

Today I'm sharing two cards.  The first features Butterfly Notes, Lovely Notes and Handpainted Thanks.

One of my favorite things about the Stamp of Approval Collections is how well the products in the collections work together.  I love seeing how many ways I can use all of the goodies together!   On this card I was able to use three different stamp sets, but by how well they work together they look like very well could have come from the same set.

I started this card with one of my favorite color combos...Aqua Mist, Ocean Tides & Wisteria Wonder with the stark contrast of black.  I stamped the sentiment first and then the butterflies from the bottom left to top right, as if they are flying across the card.  I filled in between the butterflies with the little flowers and leaves from the Lovely Flowers stamp set.  Using a Copic Multiliner I colored the center of each flower.  This is such a simple touch but makes a big difference in the overall design.

My next card features lots of new SOA goodness...Wonderful Wreath, Lovely Flowers, Butterfly Notes and the Lovely Flowers & Banners Dies, all products from Catherine Pooler Designs.

This is just another example of how wonderfully all of the Lovely Notes products works together.   The images from the Lovely Flowers stamp set look great as a focal image and in the background like I've done here.  The wreath stamped in a light ink really help make those flowers pop.  The Banner was die cut and then trimmed down to fit my design.  I love the versatility you can get by altering the die like that!

That's it from me today!  It's time to start hopping along.

Make sure to leave a comment on each blog because TWO lucky commenters will win a Stamp of Approval Lovely Notes Collection of their own.   The more times you comment, the more chances you will have of to win! (If the winner has already purchased a box, they will be refunded!)

You've got until Thursday at 9:00AM EST to get those comments in. The winner will be announced on Catherine Pooler's blog!  Good luck and happy hopping!
