Stamp of Approval - Starry Night Sky Wishes

It's Coming, It's Coming!

The Stamp of Approval Young at Heart Collection releases on...

February 3rd!

Myself and the rest of the SOA designers are spending a couple of days sharing cards using the collection.  If you'd like to see more, pop on over to Catherine's blog where she is linking all of the projects daily.

The Young at Heart Collection is perfect for every stamper, an absolute staple in my opinion!

There are so many small accent pieces available in the collection and that's what I focused on here.  I took a small confetti stamp from Bring on the Cake and made a whole night sky.  Versatility, that's what I'm talking about!

Make sure you are on the Stamp of Approval Wait List so that you are one of the first to be notified when the collection becomes available!    You don't want to miss out on this one!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I'll be back tomorrow with another project featuring the SOA Young at Heart Collection.  See you then.

Lil' Inker Designs January Release - Day 3

It's the last day of the Lil' Inker Design Team blog hops.  If you haven't checked out the new release make sure you do so, everything is available now in the Lil' Inker Store

You should have arrived here from Lisa's blog.  If not, head over to the Lil' Inker Designs blog and start the hop from the beginning.

I've got one last card for you for the January release featuring the new and improved Sunshine Sentiments.

I decided to move away from Valentine's Day on this one.  The "So proud of you" sentiment inspired me to make a "boy" card to keep on hand for just the right moment.  My youngest wears a ton of black and red, not a combo I use a lot, but thought it's be perfect for a masculine card.  Either of my kids will love this graphic design.

That's it for me!  Next on the hop is the Jen so head on over to see what kind of awesomeness she's cooked up for you!

I hope you've enjoyed my release projects!  I'm excited to start seeing some of these products popping up around blog land!

Lil' Inker Designs January Release - Day 2

We are back with our second day of design team blog hops for the Lil' Inker Designs January release.  All of the new products are available in the  Lil' Inker Store!  You must check it out!

You should have arrived here from Karen's blog.  If not, head to the Lil' Inker Store Blog to start from the beginning.

My first card features the Valentine Word Dies, Silly Stitched Dies and the Love You Paper Pack.

As you can tell, I am loving this paper pack and the Silly Stitched dies.  I used these two products on almost every project.  Rather thank hang the word tag, I used it as a stand alone sentiment tied hemp twine around the hanger.  These dies are great for embellishing goodie bags, cards or just about anything you can think of.

For my next project I used the new & improved Pinwheel Sentiments stamp set in combination with the Silly Stitched dies (shown above) and the previously released Smooches stamp set.

I could not resist using these two products together.  It just goes to show how versatile the Pinwheel Sentiments stamp set is!

Time to hop along.  Next on the hop is Amy!  Head over to her blog, then visit the Lil' Inker Designs store and shop 'til you drop!

See you tomorrow for our last day of hops!

Lil' Inker Designs January Release - Day 1

The fun begins today with the first of three days of blog hops for the Lil' Inker Designs January release.  All of the new, amazing products are available NOW in the Lil' Inker Designs Store!

You should have arrived here from Jen's blog.  If not, head to the Lil' Inker Store Blog to start from the beginning.

Love is in the air this month, with lots of fun products perfect for Valentine's Day.  Plus fun dies, paper and other goodies that you are sure to love.

Today it's all about Valentine shaker cards.  My first card features Lovie Friends Stamps & Dies, the Dual Dotted Hearts and Silly Stitched die sets and the Love You Paper Pack.

I was able to combine a ton of the new products on this one card.  The little bear reminds me of puffy stickers from when I was a kid.  I even added some glossy accents to the heart to make him look even more like it :)   To stamp the background, I drew fine pencil lines and then stamped each of the sentiments repeatedly.  This faux shaker shows how easy and effective it is when you take advantage of negative space.

My next card uses the Love You Greeting die and well as the Love You paper pack.  It has the same basic design as my first card. but this one is a true shaker.

To make this card, I first die cut the Love You paper using the Rounded Rectangle dies.  Then I centered the Love Greeting die near the top of the rectangles and die cut it again to make a window.  I layered a black greeting behind the window, a bit off-set, to make the greeting pop.

Make sure that you have left comments along the hop.  Laura is giving away 3 $15 Gift Certificates to the Lil' Inker Store!  woohoo

I'm the last stop on the hop, head on over to the Lil' Inker Designs store and shop 'til you drop!

See you tomorrow!

Double Stenciling with Embossing Paste

Pretty Pink Posh Turns 2!!

I'm thrilled to be celebrating Pretty Pink Posh's 2nd birthday.  I'm so happy for Paulina for all of her successes over the past two years.  I can't wait to see where she is two years from now!

I have two cards to share today using Pretty Pink Posh goodies.  My first card features the gorgeous  Scallop Frames die, as well as some oldies but goodies ;)

Pretty Pink Posh Products Used:
Scallop Frame Die, Stitched Labels 1, 4mm Clear Droplets & Raspberry Sequins
  • Start by die cutting the scallop frame from a piece of white card stock.
  • Next trim a piece of white card stock just slightly smaller than 4 x 5 inches, to be placed behind the frame.
  • Using a Blending tool, lightly add Picked Raspberry Distress Ink to the stencil to create a faded stenciled background.
  • Stamp the flower stem and sentiment in black ink on the stenciled piece.
  • Adhere the frame to the stenciled piece with liquid glue.
  • Stamp the flower images on white scrap paper and sponge with Distress Inks, then die cut.  Add to the card using foam tape or dimensionals.
  • Die cut the border from the Stitched Borders 2 die from black cardstock and adhere it to the bottom of the frame.
  • Embellish the design with die cuts, sequins and droplets.

I went a bit more simplistic with this next card.

Pretty Pink Posh Products Used:
Stitched Banner Duo, Twine & Bows Die & 4mm Classic Christmas Sequin Mix
These two products are some of my very favorite in the PPP line.  Just add some stamping to these beauties and you can get a CAS card done quickly and easily.  I love that the twine bow doesn't add bulk and makes for flat mailing.

That's it from me today!

There are tons of prizes so make sure you leave comments as you hop along!

A Birthday Present, Guest Blogging & A "New" Challenge

So many fun and exciting things going on this month!  On January 11th we celebrate StampNation's 5th Birthday.  I've been around since before the doors officially opened and it's been great having a front row seat watching the community grow and flourish into what it is today!

We usually have a party to celebrate StampNation's birthday, but this year we are giving members a present!  Our next class, Technique Toolbox: Creative Stenciling is FREE for members!  This class will be available later for sale, but SN members will get it first and for free.

Next, I'm thrilled to be a guest blogger over at today!

Head on over there to see a clean & simple, one layer card that I made using the Stamp of Approval Friendship Collection.

We also have a new challenge up at StampNation!  The design team took a few weeks off for the holidays but we are back in full force.  We've each used something "NEW" to us on our projects to kick of the NEW year!

I see some fun supplies in that graphic!

I'd love for you play along with us, but you have to be a member to play!

I hope to see you there!

Beautiful Day Birthday Card Set

I've spent the last couple of days working on some upcoming deadlines, well, that's until I got stuck and couldn't make a thing I liked!  I spent 3 hours on Saturday throwing away each and every piece I made.  When creative time makes me cranky, it's time to switch gears!  So after dinner I decided to just play with my stamps.  I haven't done a challenge in ages, so I set out for one that inspired me.  I found this Freshly Made Sketches #217 and I knew it'd be perfect to use with the Beautiful Day stamp set that I recently got.

While I had my MISTI out, I figured I may as well go ahead and make a few cards at once.  I tried out some different colors for layering stamps which was great, but I didn't get all of the layers on perfectly.  All is good, I had a blast doing it anyway!

In the end I wound up not using a sentiment strip across my card, but thank you FMS for getting my mojo flowing once again! You'll be happy to know that I took out the same products I was throwing away on Saturday and made a card I liked in 10 minutes flat.  Funny how that goes!
