Happy Bird

I'm up over at the WPlus9 Design blog again sharing a bright and fun card featuring the new Happy Birds stamp set.  Here's a little peek...

I hope you'll stop by and visit me there.

I just realized how many peeks I've been posting lately and how little full cards I've shown.  I do hope you are checking out my cards on the other site but I promise to add some full cards soon!!!!

Happy Saturday!

Party Background

We have a new challenge up at StampNation where backgrounds take center stage.  I love building my own background with stamps and using distress inks to create fun colorful and blended backgrounds.

I decided on distress inks and embossing paste to create a birthday card.  Here's a peek:

I'd love for you play along with us, but you have to be a member to play!

I hope to see you there!

Silhouette Birthday

I've been on a birthday card making kick lately.  I love having a stack of cards on hand that I can choose from when I need one.   Penny Black makes the most amazing nature stamps.  I especially love to use them as silhouettes.   It's hard to see in this photo but I made a frame around the stamped panel using a scoring tool.  This is a great technique for CAS cards.

Thanks for stopping in to visit today.  Have a great weekend!

Faded Background Stenciling

I'm up over on Catherine's blog with another card inspired by our Creative Stenciling & Mediums class and Kristie's Trends Article on Stenciling.

Here's a peek...

Can you believe that we are STILL adding new tutorials to this class?  What a wonderful resource and it's free for StampNation members!

It's Your Day!

I hope you enjoyed all of the projects I made for the Stamp of Approval release.   If you didn't purchase a box yet, you better hurry.  There's only about 10% left!!!

Just because release week has ended, that doesn't mean I don't have more cards to share.  Like I said the other day, I'm on a mission to make more "boy" cards.   It's been so nice to have a bunch on hand for my kids to choose from for birthday parties and I'm actually starting to enjoy this type of card making.  It's a bit different from what I usually make (flowers, flowers and more flowers) and it's a good challenge for me to come up with things that boys will like.  Here I did some double stenciling with Distress inks, then filled in some of the spaces with a stamped image.  When I think boy cards, I think simple, less is definitely more.  They like cool techniques and graphic images.  So that's what I tried to achieve here.  I'm a bit obsessed with the chalkboard technique lately (just scroll down one page of my blog and that will become very apparent ;) so bare with me!

Thanks for stopping by!

Stamp of Approval Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stamp of Approval Blog Hop.  Today myself and some of my favorite designers are sharing cards using the Stamp of Approval Young at Heart Collection!  The Stamp of Approval is an exclusive collection of stamps, dies and accessories hand picked by Catherine Pooler.

The Stamp of Approval Young at Heart Collection will be released soon, very soon, TOMORROW in fact!!  By the looks of the Wait List, it's going to sell out quickly.  This is a limited collection that will only be available until they are sold out, so make sure that you are on the Wait List to be notified when it is available.  StampNation members that are on the Wait List will be notified first (a little perk of being a member!) then the rest of the Wait List will be contacted!

I've been creating with the SOA Young at Heart Collection for the past couple of weeks.  I'm thrilled that I finally get to share my creations.

Here you are getting a peek at the Harleen stencil, Young at Heart stamp set and Birthday Journal Card dies.  I have said it before, I'll say it again...you will never NEED another birthday stamp set EVER if you purchase this collection.  I'm on a mission lately to make masculine cards and this collection totally fits the bill.  Just about every card I've made is perfect for guys.

It's time to start hopping along now!

Make sure to leave a comment on each blog because TWO lucky commenters will win a Stamp of Approval Young at Heart Collection of their own.   The more times you comment, the more chances you will have of to win! (If the winner has already purchased a box, they will be refunded!)

You've got until Thursday at 9:00AM EST to get those comments in. The winner will be announced on Catherine Pooler's blog!  Good luck and happy hopping!

Stamp of Approval Young at Heart Collection

The Stamp of Approval Young at Heart Collection releases on...

February 3rd!

Myself and the rest of the SOA designers are spending a couple of days sharing cards using the collection.  If you'd like to see more, pop on over to Catherine's blog where she is linking all of the projects daily.

If you missed my project from yesterday, you can either scroll down or click here.

I honestly don't know how we will ever top this collection.  I will NEVER need to buy another birthday stamp set, ever.  It has a little something for everyone and is versatile enough to use for any age or gender. Plus, there are so many fun little accents.  A must have for every stamper, for sure!

One of my favorite products from the collection is the Ring in the Celebration stamp set.  I knew immediately that I'd be stamping my own patterned paper with it!

Do you like to stamp your own backgrounds?  I just love it!  To make placement easier, I went ahead and drew a grid with a pencil and ruler, that I erased before putting my card together.  See that present?  That's not just a present, use it with other stamps and it makes a topsy turvy cake!  eek!  Seriously, you are going to love this collection.

Make sure you are on the Stamp of Approval Wait List so that you are one of the first to be notified when the collection becomes available!    You don't want to miss out on this one!

Thanks for stopping by!
