Featured Artist - Tag You're It #66

I was shocked to get a message from Tracey McNeely back in December inviting ME to be a Featured Artist over at Tag You're It.  I hadn't stamped in four months and wondered if anyone was even stopping by my blog anymore.  I had just told my husband that I was starting to get the urge to stamp and asked him to hang my ink pad holder for me.  The next day I received the message from Tracey, it was meant to be.

I had a blast creating this tag.  I used lots of goodies from Catherine Pooler's shop...stamps, inks, dies OH MY!!  Since we moved the weekend before Christmas I had to give out a few IOUs as gifts this year.  We are finally catching up and getting back into the swing of things, so we will be giving some gifts over the next month or two.  I thought it would be fun to have non-holiday, "Happy Everything" tags to give along with these gifts.  I think it's kind of fun to get a gift just out of the blue, don't you?

I can't wait to see how you are inspired by this tag.  I bet you all will create something amazing!

Thanks for stopping by and thank you Tracey for inviting me!

Birthday Wishes

Today we celebrate my son Conner's 14th birthday!  Conner is my old-soul, wise beyond his years.  He's caring and compassionate, responsible and a pretty darn awesome kid.  Making cards for this amazing kid isn't the easiest though...Not a little kid but not quite an adult.  What to do??  Spot On paired with shades of blue and green seem like a "safe" choice.  I did add some twine and sequins, which may have been a risky choice for a teenage bo,y but I had to pretty it up a bit.

What do you think of my attempt for a teen boy card?  Success or epic fail?

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hello and Happy Valentine's Day.  My hubby and I aren't big fans of Valentine's Day but I can't let the holiday pass without giving him a handmade card!  Though the result is CAS here, I used a lot of supplies.  Probably not a lot compared to some stampers, but for me, well, there was a big mess to clean up.

I hadn't used the Mod Squared Stencil from the SOA release much, so my plan here was to feature it front and center.  I die cut a heart from masking paper and adhered it to my card front.  Then I secured the stencil over the mask and sponged with Distress Inks.  Once the colors were blended, I removed the mask and added all of the pops of black.

Thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy your loves today!

This is the first card that I made with The Perfect Reason SOA collection and the last that I have in my stash to share with you.  The Perfect Reason stamp set is my favorite from the collection, which shouldn't surprise you since by now you know that I am obsessed with floral stamp sets.  The large Congrats is from the You Did It stamp set.  I am in love with the font and it's perfect as a stand alone sentiment.

I do hope that you've grabbed a box of your own.  I know a lot of customers have already received their collections because SOA creations are popping up all over social media.  If you haven't gotten yours yet, head over to cpstampofapproval.com and get yours before they are gone!
