Paper Pieced Stand Tall

Hi all, I hope by now you've ordered your Stamp of Approval collection.  If you have, Awesome!  I bet those boxes will start arriving on your door steps today and your projects will be popping up all over social media just in time for the weekend.  My post is perfectly time to inspire you further!

But...If you haven't ordered yet, this card just might put you over the edge ;)

I don't usually gush about my own cards, but I love this one so much.  I haven't shared it yet because I used circle dies, which are NOT included in the collection.  I didn't want to confuse anyone!

Flamingos are one of my favorite animals.  As a child, I spent hours taking in their beauty at the zoo. I'm thrilled that we now have flamingos in the CP product line!  There was one thing though...I don't what on earth could I do with this line stamp?  My solution, paper piece.

Paper piecing is a simple technique and great for non-colorers like me.  I simply stamped the flamingo on white card stock, then sponged over it with the new Coral Cabana ink.  For some added texture, I stamped over the inking, also with Coral Cabana ink, with the cross-hatch border stamp from the Good Vibes Borders stamp set.  I then hand trimmed the inked and sponged flamingo and layered it on top of another flamingo that I had stamped and die cut.

Tropically Yours is my favorite of the 13 Stamp of Approval collections.  I highly recommend adding it to your stamping stash!

Tropically Yours SOA is Available Now!

YAY!  The Tropically Yours SOA collection is now available for purchase!  Hurry, it's only available while supplies last.

Before you head off to the shop, I have one more card to share with you!  And it doesn't get more tropical than this!

This another perfect Summertime color combo...Coral Cabana, Tiki Torch, Lime Rickey and Aquatini.  LOVE these together.  I stamped the background using this combo and the Good Vibes Borders stamp set.  I added that to a white card base and stamped the Hibiscus and leaves from Tropically Yours in the same colors.  They were die cut using the Tropically Yours dies (Add-on) and arranged on a white card panel.  I stamped the sentiment and then added it to the card base with foam tape.

Time for you to go grab your SOA collection, before it's too late!

Thanks so much for stopping by.

SOA - Tropical Hello

Hello there!  I hope you've been enjoying the Tropically Yours blog hops.  I'm not officially on today but I have a card to share with you anyway ;)  You can head to Catherine's blog for the full blog hop lists for each day.

The Tropically Yours collection looks fab with the the Party Ink Collection, a match made in heaven.  But I wanted to show you that these products look just as lovely with the Spa Collection.

Featured Products:
  • Tropically Yours stamp set
  • Stand Tall stamp set
  • Leave Me in Paradise

Gorgeous, right?!  I stamped the Hibiscus in Rose Petals and Peppermint Scrub and the leaves in Green Tea and Eucalyptus.  The sentiment and border are from Stand Tall and were stamped in Icing on the Cake.  I did a little stamp surgery on the "hello" but you could also mask off just a portion of the sentiment.

I arranged and added the images on a Sand Dunes panel that was sponged with white pigment ink, then added the sentiment and sequins and finished by adding it to a white card base.

I hope you liked my project today.  I'll be back tomorrow for release day, WOOT.  One more sleep!  Make sure that you are on the Wait List!

Tropically Yours SOA Blog Hop - Day One

Welcome to Day One of the Tropically Yours Stamp of Approval blog hops.  I'm so excited for this box to release!  You all are seriously going to LOVE it!

If you haven't heard of Stamp of Approval (SOA) it is an exclusive collection of stamps, dies and accessories created by Catherine Pooler Designs.  These collections contain everything you need to make a variety of cards without having to reach into your stash.

The Tropically Yours Collection will be released to the Wait List on July 18th at 9AM and the general public at 6:00PM!!  This is a limited collection that will only be available while supplies last, so make sure that you are on the Wait List to be notified when it is available.  StampNation members get early access on July 17th (a little perk of being a member!).

Now that we've gotten through all of the nitty-gritty details, it's time to take a peek at some projects!

I have 3 Clean And Simple (CAS) cards to share with you today.  These projects will give you ideas using many of the products included in the Tropically Yours collection.

This first card features:

  • Fearless Pursuit Stamp Set
  • Fearless Pursuit Dies (Add-on)
  • Good Vibes Borders Stamp Set
  • Coral Cabana Ink (Add-on)

I had so much fun creating this card.  I'm loving how perfectly Coral Cabana fits into the Party Collection of inks.  Here I paired it with Melon Ice and Aquatini.  I may have found a new favorite color combo.  It's perfect for Summertime cards.

To create this card, I first stamped three rows of solid shapes from Fearless Pursuit in the colors listed above.  Next I stamped over each one using the patterned shapes in Midnight.  I added the die cut palm tree and sentiment.  Then grounded the design by adding the Midnight strips of card stock.

My next card features:
  • Leave Me in Paradise Stamp Set
  • Leave Me in Paradise Dies (Add-on)
  • Tropically Yours Stamp Set
  • Good Vibes Borders Stamp Set

I absolutely had to pull out all green shades of CP ink and create this card using the Leave Me in Paradise stamp set.  Here I used Melon Ice, Garden Green, Lime Rickey and Grass Skirt.  I stamped the images three at a time moving from the bottom right to the top left to create a sense of movement and flow to my design.  I used the lightest colors on the largest images and moved to the darkest colors on the smallest images.

I added a touch of Midnight in the sentiment, border and smallest leaves.  This adds a nice contrast to the monochromatic color scheme.

My last card for today.  A Summer Sunset featuring...
  • Fearless Pursuit Stamp Set
  • Coral Cabana Ink (Add-on)

This CAS card shows how wonderfully Coral Cabana blends with the existing inks in the Party Collection.  Here I have used it with Bellini, Limoncello and Tiara to create a beautiful sunset sky.  And, Aquatini makes a perfect Caribbean ocean!

The images were simply stamped in Midnight.  CAS perfection!

I hope you enjoyed my projects today!  I sure did have fun creating them.  I have so much more to share.  So, continue to check back.

Time to go hopping along now.

Don't forget to leave comments along the way.  THREE commenters will be chosen at random from all the comments on all the blogs (one each day) to win the Stamp of Approval Collection!

The Next Stamp of Approval is Coming Soon!

The next Stamp of Approval is COMING!  Blog hops start tomorrow and continue through the 17th.  I'll be sharing quite a few cards, so make sure that you check in this week.

I know I say this a lot, BUT, this is my favorite collection.   I think EVER!!  I have had such a blast creating with the products included in this Stamp of Approval  and I still have ideas floating around in my head!

Here's a little peek at what I've been creating...

You are going to want this collection.  I promise you that!  Make sure that you are on the Wait List so that you are able to purchase as soon as it's available.  Stamp of Approval collections are only available while supplies last.  You DO NOT want to miss out on this one!

"New" Craft Stash Blog Hop

Hi all!  I'm happy to be joining in the "New" Craft Stash Blog Hop.  I rarely seem to have time to stamp anymore, so I have lots of "New" to me product!

For the hop I decided to break out the Faithful Fluttering stamp set and dies from Catherine Pooler Designs.  I was able to use the stamps when they first released, but I haven't gotten a chance to use those gorgeous dies yet!   WHAT?!  Time to remedy that!

I decided to also pull out the two NEW patterned paper packs, Paisleys & Peacocks and Black Tie Gala, also from Catherine Pooler Designs!

Let's get to the projects, shall we?

I love using patterned paper to line card fronts.  It's a great way to add color and pattern without adding layers!  (A great tips for CAS stampers!)  So I did that on both of my cards today!

The Faithful Flutterings images are so beautiful.  They really make stunning focal points.  I didn't want anything taking away from my butterflies so they are the star of the show on both of my cards.  Here I've die cut the butterfly stamped in Aquatini, All That Jazz and Midnight ink and placed it on a card front lined with Black Tie Gala Patterned paper.  The black background makes a nice contrast with the stamped butterfly, making it POP!  To balance the card, I rounded just the right corner (offsetting the heavy focal point on the left).

My second card uses Faithful Flutterings stamps & dies again, but paired them with the Paisleys & Peacocks Patterned Paper.

The colors and patterns in this pack are fun and bright.  I pulled one of the simpler patterns from the pack and stamped a butterfly in coordinating colors (Flirty Fuchsia and Grape Crush).  I die cut this stamped image and also die cut through the white panel that I cut to add to the card front.  I partially inset the butterfly adhering only the body and bent the wings so that the patterned paper could be revealed from below.

This is yet another simple technique that really adds to the overall design of the card.

I sure did have fun making these projects to share on the hop.  I hope I've inspired you to use some of your stash in a similar way!!

Time to go hopping along now.

Make sure that you leave comments on all blogs, on all 3 days of our hops, to be entered to win a prize from one of our very generous sponsors.  Prizes will be drawn/winners contacted on July 23rd.
